They were behaving like unwashed peasants and were not appreciated.
Let's review. The Notre Dame fans found out about a post they didn't like so they came over in droves and got it shut down. They win.

Good luck against all b1g teams. Hope you win your division, is it leaders or legends? And the conference... Finishing the season with one loss which comes on Nov 3rd.

Good luck, I really appreciate and admire your program. Plus my Son's HS team has the same color scheme on their uniforms.

Yeah, I deleted it. Everyone had their fun, but it got ridiculous so I pulled the plug. No biggee.

Very disappointed in your decision Lou. The ridiculous was only one element of the thread. To be expected in any public forum addressing anything to do with ND or OSU or Alabama football. Other elements like the headless horseman, the ELO missives and others were interesting and entertaining.

Bottom line, StreamCat provided a better, more accurate description of what pulling the thread amounted to. The ridiculous won. Your subscribers are great NU fans. And they were silenced on a credible topic relevant to the aspirations of the program.

Respectfully,

GOUNUII

You seem like a decent sort. I’ve come to value that on message boards!

Thank Lou, The thread had some merit at the beginning but was derailed.

But only one of the visiting Domers got banned. First used profanities and name calling to describe the original poster, Which got deleted. Then when he received a warning with a note that name calling and profanities are not tolerated here. So he decided to send the moderators a private message calling them names and using profanities .I spent eight hours on the highway all day Monday and another eight hours on the highway yesterday before I was able to look at the board last night, so I was certainly not in the mood to be cursed at by a Notre Dame fan. He is gone forever and ever

I would love for either of my two sons to attend ND S NU or any of the Academies would prefer Annapolis but can't go wrong.

My Oldest is going to Pitt. They are great in the major he wants. Proud of him. Plus Pitt gets in the crawl of my in laws so it's a fringe Bennie.

Good conversation, glad you guys lowered yourselves to talk to fish eaters!

I didn't see the thread.

Did we talk about how the most well-known Catholic institution in the country was or was-not tarnished by decades of Catholic child rape?

Or did we only talk about how Brian Kelly has introduce a culture of non-accountability, whether for his own actions, or for those of his team? And that the Catholics seem happy to go along with it as long as they win.

(I grew up a Domer. I applied to two schools. My dad only resumed loving me after my brother went to ND.)

(I still want ND to win every week that they don't play Northwestern.)

ND was one of the few Catholic institutions that spoke out against the Church during the scandal & had no part of it.

Brian Kelly has suspended or booted more ND players than any coach at ND.

We did establish that just mentioning ND brought more attention to the board than they it ever has had. And (most) ND posters & (most) NU posters had a pretty funny back & forth. But the thread getting deleted was not a good thing because it made NU look bad. The OP started a thread taking jabs at ND & when ND defended itself the thread got deleted. And it was a very civil thread. Everybody was getting along & just poking fun at each other.

No one “won” anything, for cripe’s sake. The thread turned into a fly paper, and those things should get tossed once used.

The premise of the thread was very stark, but then a handful of Domers descended like locusts and turned it into a crap show. I am thankful Lou took out the garbage.

I know it would never work for a multitude of valid reasons, but would love to see a Conference of
ND
Stanford
NU
WF
Vandy
UVA
BC
Rice
Duke
U$C or some other program out west?

Any ideals on this fictional conference. I concede a student athlete can get a great education at almost any university if they put their mind and work ethic to it. But does the school just funnel players into joke majors and lower the bar so far that they don't have to play school? This is what sets NU Stanford ND and those other schools apart from most.

It’s interesting that the NU board is open commode for anyone (non subscribers) that care to infiltrate and hurl insults. Most Rivals boards are in lock down to non subscribers. You can’t get on ND or The Fighting Lovie boards and fire away in them. Try it.

This is a NU board, sorry but I don’t want it infiltrated by a bunch of AHoles from other schools. We have enough of our own. The thread deteriorated into garbage with one up insults. Waste of time getting involved.

Thank you FLAlum and Sweet Lou for taking out the trash.

ONE PERSON got ugly according to the mod. One person. And he got booted. How does that make ND fans on here bad?
How does that make the thread “trash?”

You could never have a board if you judged everything on one person.

A lot of threads on here should “get tossed” if that is the standard.

I would not dream of going onto another fan board and crapping on a program. I think outgrew that when I hit 15 and starting drinking Busch beer. If some fan base wants to crap on NU from the comfy schmumfy confines of their own board, they can crap away AFAIAC. Those ND trolls evidenced a fair degree of juvenile butthurt with their antics. So Lou had to bust out the disinfectant. It’s tantamount to discovering that chair has fleas, so the whole thing has to go. You cannot just clean the cushion.

It’s actually the exact other way around. ND fans didn’t crap on NU. NU fans crapped on ND. ND fans just had fun with it, as did most NU fans.
If you live your life without consequences then you are still a 15 year old drinking Busch beer. The fact you are still moaning about it makes me think you are a 19 year old drinking Natutal Light....

Actually, I have graduated to Keystone Light, The consequences of this lifestyle choice is a bunch of Keystone Light empties in my garbage. You are welcome to come collect them and turn them into the recycling center. I usually give them to the homeless guy who plies the alley with his orange cart taken from Home Depot. But for you, I will make an exception. They are my gift to you.

You might invest the proceeds in a visit to the doctor for an EEG and brain MRI. I am concerned about your cognition. Or maybe you have simply been stuck in the Hubbard Street cave on I-94, imbibing exhaust fumes, listening to Toad the Wet Sprocket on WXRT. Or perhaps its groundwater contamination in South Bend due to runoff from the hog farms and bean growers. The brain is a sensitive organ. Treat it with care.

But note that it was green clad, Dome-sucking miscreants who ventured over here to take part in our family discussion of our odious neighbors to the east on the Indiana Toll Road. I did not author the post, but I can assure that it was not intended for Irish eyes. Be that as it may, I would hope you not judge us too harshly, as we are a peace-loving, over-educated bunch. We are doctors, lawyers, accountants, therapists (I highly recommend Emotional Core Therapy!), writers, entrepreneurs, and one highly acclaimed bug researcher who has many novel uses of Drano, none of which come recommended by the original equipment manufacturer.

So, as you can see, we are creators. Sometimes we may create too vigorously, and in poor form, with unseemly results. Creation is not always a clean, elegant process. Creators often compose things that are destine to fail, to miss the mark, to leave a mess. One cannot take these things personally.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.
