If we beat Indiana, probably yes.
If not, probably not.

Way to go out on a limb with that prediction Lou! You usually have Quite a bit to say about this team. Just say whether you think they get in or not. You have an opinion on everything else. Pretty easy. Yes or no.

I also try to base my opinions on some kind of evidence. But if you’re putting me on the spot, I think we lose and lose badly to Indiana. Therefore no tournament.

YES!

If we don’t......I put it at 50/50 of dancing in this decade. This program has to make it this year and keep the momentum going. I don’t even want to think about what things could look like next year if the season ends in a free fall.

No way. You have to end in a positive way. We are not going to lose our way into tournament.
The selection committee don't want an egg on their face when all the signs are pointing to No arrow.

The team can't even make an open shot into the Grand Canyon right now.

If you were going to put your old username in your new screen username why not just call yourself RULOU2 or something? Why all caps? Why claim to base your opinions on evidence and then post 100% based on your feelings? I have so many questions!

YES. Even if it’s an 8 or 9 seed, I wanna see us win the first game so we can knock off a 1 seed.

I'm told that's 100% false, the committee doesn't consider how you finished. I was told right here by the experts

The experts are right and the clowns posting things like "the selection committee don't want an egg on their face" are wrong.

I'll give you a hint.. half the teams they select will lose the first game so they mostly don't get egg on their face if someone loses in the first round.

God knows everyone goes hunting for the selection committee every time that, um... (checks notes).. a 10 seed loses in the first round. That sure makes them look foolish.

The people saying no are seriously under estimating how important it was that the other version of this Rutgers team beat Illinois and to lesser extent Purdue. Illinois is a MONSTER win.

You still need wins to get in.
Certainly you’re not suggesting if we lose out we’re getting in, even with those wins are you?

The whole season counts I’m so tired of you clowns being like “well we didn’t get a quality win yesterday so it doesn’t count” the Illinois and Purdue wins count even if you have bad feelings about the Maryland game.
Its not yesterday, its last year

If the team collapses in a free fall, and then several players leave or transfer, next year and the following few years will be long and difficult for Pikiell.

The committee doesn't consider how you finish
If they lose to Indiana and don't make at least the quarter finals of the B1G tournament, they will have finished terribly and will likely not get in..how else do you look at finishing?? That was my original post. Hoping for 2 very good wins in December plus another good one w Maryland, also In December, and 1 decent win against IU isn't how you want to go into Selection Sunday

Don’t like what I saw Sunday. However, yes. We will make the tournament.

Its body of work

Losing alot at the end of the year hurts the profile obviously because you are bunching loses together. That they happen at the end in itself has no relevance

If they beat Indiana and Nebby they are in period

Beating Nebraska is what they're talking about as far as not looking at how you finish..RU Beating Nebraska won't be held against them if another bubble team ends w a quality win..Beating Nebraska means nothing but losing to Indiana does..lose to Nebraska and forget it. Good thing is B1G tournament can lead to a couple good wins

There are only 4 not projected in the tourney schools that could bump Rutgers out...you are acting as if there are 5 about 10 schools in worse shapen than RU that could also lose out

Start paying attention to other schools

I pay attention to plenty, thanks..you're acting like Rutgers is sitting pretty. Back to the start of this, lose to Indiana and only win one in conf tournament, its a coin flip..start watching other conferences and look at teams that are looking to spoil things..a couple mid majors sneak in and rutgers will be out BECAUSE OF HOW THEY FINISH

Yes and while mist of you will be thrilled just making it in, I am seriously disappointed right now. This should have been a team not only to get in easily but win some...which we only did 40 to 45 years ago.

Yes! ...
to paraphrase the late great Al D. , “Just Get In Baby”
7 or 10 does not matter, 10 win almost as much
A play in to secure a 12, upset a 5, then get on a roll. A bunch of first fours have gotten to sweet 16
8/9 tossup, then face a Baylor/Gonzaga. Will be tougher, but at least they would be in etc
Just win the next two, and they are in...

Yes. RHJ is due to breakout, we still haven't played our best basketball, and team will be re-motivated against a mediocre Indiana team. Making the tournament for the first time means more to RU than Indiana.

My assumption is we beat Indy and Nebraska, lose to Minnesota and the first round, so we are a 9/10 seed. Any more wins than that move us to a 7.

However, with our luck (I mean think about it - RU has tourney resume for first time in 30 years last year - then global pandemic hits....) would it really surprise anyone if this is the year for several unexpected bid stealers in the major conference tournaments?

The dude you are talking to literally wrote a paragraph about like 40 different schools. You are way out of your depth.
