He misplayed the screen at the end. He got lazy and tried to come under the screen. If he does the right thing, it’s either a contested shot, no shot, or a drive which is at worst a 2. Not exonerating the refs on that, but Yeboah totally misplayed the whole situation. This on top of not going strong enough to the hole (raise the ball high immediately) on the feed from JY after the steal, and I’m sure he’s gonna have a long trip home.

He didn’t get lazy , he just made the wrong read . He overhelped on Stevens when Harper was trailing him . Worse that happens is Stevens makes a 2. Because he overhelped, he lost space with Dred and he tried to make up for it going under . Also Myles has to see this and jump the screen there and force them to throw it backdoor

Cant fault Yebohah on the screen.

He did have a very poor showing and he had a very bad and casual approach to the hoop on the Young steal.

OP is right. Feel better for kwasi because he wants a tourney bid sooo bad. But hes gotta trail that guy rather than cut under. Again it was still an illegal screen but if hes trailing the shot doesnt get off and the guy is forced to drive

I disagree. He got mauled by Harrar there. That should have been a foul against PSU and the shot should have been waved off.

He thought Miles was going to come out on the screen, switch, and hedge hard like he ALWAYS does. Yeboah tried to recover for him but it was too late. That's the look he gave Miles after they hit the 3.

Yeboah could've been called for a foul on the screen himself. He grabbed the guy with two arms trying to get around him actually. We had no one anywhere near the three point line on that sequence. That is unforgiveable.

that would have been a better option...even though that white guy hit some free throws, he isnt the best

He actually went over the screen. If Yebaoh goes under it’s a straight uncontested [unless the screener would have let whipped him] sprint to the shooter.

He actually took the path of greater resistance to the shooter who stayed at the top of the key instead of moving to his left.

Yebaoh did not get to the shooter because of lack of effort. He just got plowed by a football player masquerading as a basketball player.

If Yeboah tried to follow Dread out and around Harrar, he would have been a step late and trying to contest from the side rather than a step late and trying to contest from the front.

There's also nothing saying Harrar wouldn't have just moved into Yeboah in the opposite direction, as he was pretty clearly intent on clearing him out so that Dread could get off a shot.

Hard to close out when the screener is allowed to move into you and close off your pursuit path. Had Harrar held his screen where initially set it, Yeboah would have made it to Dread to contest the shot.
