We shut down 90% of Mississippi's economy for:

Total cases: 11,123
Total Deaths: 510

Still cannot wrap my thoughts around this!

Also, don’t forget that any death in which the dying person had COVID is listed as a COVID death.

There have been places of business that have seen 100% of their employees catch it and 100% of the employees were asymptomatic.

And it's even worse in some other states and cities. NYC may still be shut down for months. As I said elsewhere, China couldn't have done this much harm to the world not matter how hard they tried.

Construction projects are still not allowed in Pennsylvania, and just recently started again in Washington.

Here's an interesting map of states and their construction project status (as of about 3 weeks ago): https://www.constructiondive.com/news/mapping-high-impact-construction-across-the-us/551042/

I am a frequent user of hyperbole myself but that 90% is waaayyyyy off. Plus, I am thankful that our actions have reduced the numbers of infected people and deaths.

That's mostly bc you're old and fat

And it just feels like 90% of the economy shut down because of the casinas shuttering. That would like shuttering the oil/fracking complex in Texas.

For the economy as a whole, yes it's hyperbole, but did you know that airline passenger traffic is down 96% nationwide (or was - it may have picked up some now).

I earned the 17 out of that avatar.

You have. Keep your chin up. I didn't respond before, but you asked if you should spend your savings trying to save your business. Hell no.

Whatever you were doing before may not be worth it. There will be opportunities for entrepreneurs on the back side of this.. But if you bury yourself in personal debt saving a business that can't be saved... You won't get to participate.

Don't worry about your SBA loan. No chance in hell the SBA will come after personal assets of businesses that don't survive. The lawsuits would cost 100 times more than what they recover and all of Congress would lose their seats for letting it happen.

Shut the doors if you have to. Come back in a year or two or whenever your industry is ready. No bank will hold this default against you. Then you can start a new business when you feel the time is right. Next time you won't make all of the mistakes you probably did the first time around.

It's not your fault. It's not a problem you can fix. Don't fight a battle if you know you can't win... Make strategic retreat and come back and kick *** when you have rallied your forces.
