Thats a stretch, as both would have been very good catches, one on a very poorly thrown ball & one vs very good coverage. But even giving you both of those, it’s still a loss & a poor offensive performance.

All of those might not have been completely Leach’s fault, but pay dirt is scoring and he did not lead his team to scores. Lead then to the red zone, I’ll give ya, but it only counts if the refs raise both hands.

They might be. I don't know if Oregon, Stanford or USC had talented defenses or not. I don't know if they ran the same scheme as Washington did.

It's tangential but Washington has just as many Playoff appearances (1) as those three programs combined. So it's not crazy to say they might've been the most talented defense in the Pac-12 under Peterson. I haven't done the research but it's not an off-the-wall assumption.

Oregon with their Nike money is both more talented and ran the defense, and they couldn’t stop him at all.

They all ran it, they all watching Washington and generally speaking Oregon, Stanford and USC have been more talented on average the past decade than Washington.

Winner! Winner! I dont care what level you are playing. If you've got 5 that can't block 3, you suck. Hell, even if you choose the wrong guy to block, you've got 2 more linemen there that theoretically don't have anybody to block and can p/u the slack. I'm shocked too we haven't lost the ball on the shotgun snap, yet, because it's been turrible

Neither were poorly thrown. Wally did not have to break stride. He barely needed to jump. He had both hands on the ball and that kid will tell you he should have caught it. Mitchell caught the ball and had it ripped out. Again. Not on Leach. Not his play calling. Not his system.

The Arkansas game and the UK games should have been wins.

Yes. It's his job to either train the players to catch it better (which he has) or recruit them (which he has). These inconsistencies will be handled, but the narrative of it won't work in the SEC is already debunked. Even vs a zone... in what will be the worst MSU team he will have.... they move the ball and are in positions to win.

With the way Leach recruits, this actually may be the best MSU team he will have

So, pay dirt is at the 20-yard line now? How many points do you get for that? Keep lowering that bar.

Maybe Leach shouldn’t have said that it takes like 3 full practices to install his offense then

Yes, because in his first year he was able to recruit five 4* players and add three more 4* players for a total of 7. As compared to Mullen who was #1 in 2014 for 5 weeks only getting 3 and ranked 36. The following year Mullen did sign seven 4*s...

Oh look... The same as Leach did in year 1.
