So we got our 2017 Humana insurance packet in the mail this week... Someone please tell me (while keeping a straight face) how this can even remotely be considered "affordable care" for a middle class family of four. IT. IS. MORE. THAN. OUR. MORTGAGE.

Contrary to the promises made (over and over again) by President Obama, we were NOT able to keep our plan or our doctors. Every single year since the ACA took effect, I've had to shop for a new plan either because our old one didn't meet ACA criteria or the insurance providers jumped ship. Every single year, the premiums on our (extremely high deductible) plans have risen while our coverage has decreased.

I'm posting this because I don't think some folks understand the negative impact that this healthcare "reform" has had on average American families like mine. Fixing the pre-existing condition issue was great, and there are a couple other decent things in the law, but the cost we're paying for it is much, much too high. And I don't think our so-called leaders care. I know the Democrats don't because they're the ones who made all of this possible. Y'all will have to forgive me for not saying thank you.

Which do you chose?

Conservative plan is that insurance providers and the medical institutions should be able to charge and do whatever they want. If you can afford it good for you if not too bad. High medical insurance care is the result of high medical costs. You cannot reduce one without reducing the other. (Obamacare deals with the conservative approach by at least attempting to provide insurance). Absent insurance one trip to the hospital can destroy someone financially.

The Liberals want National Health Care with cost controls for everyone so health care is affordable but not always gives a person freedom of choice.

The question is simply which plan is best for the average American citizen?

Hell, what we had before is better than what we have now.

When people that don't understand free markets attempt to create them, especially in health care, you get failures like the ACA. You're simplistic view of the "Conservative plan" versus the Liberal plan is a great example of not understanding the root causes of the problem.

I have only received a .10 cent raise in 4 years...I'm Union & my raises is negotiated for a 3year period & every year since the aca became law the money must go to insurance.
The democrats logic, we must pass it to see what's in it....
