Looking back at the LSU game I think one of the biggest stats of the day was yards after catch. I think that probably accounted for half of the passing yards total as just two players, Hill and Mitchell, had over 200 yards after catch. I think that was attributable to two things. The scheme with routes involving running receivers instead of throwing to spots and Costello's incredible accuracy to deliver the ball in full stride. Playing press coverage didn't help LSU any in this capacity either. If Costello can sustain that kind of accuracy there is really no way to stop it except a good pass rush.

My Dad and I talked about this during the game. It was very noticeable how well KJ hit receivers in stride and they had the ability to pick up additional yards.

Watching Matt Wyatt's 3rd down analysis the thing that blew me away was how many wide open receivers we had on each play. I don't know if the LSU secondary got tired or we are just that fast this year but I have never seen our WRs get that open. In the past QBs have had to thread the needle. Leach's scheme leads to open receivers!
