Thread on TOS about a rumor he is leaving as well. It leaves a knicked up Rahmir and Stepp. Looks like it is Brody Belt time!

was it because held got canned? the eating issue? being placed on ignore when he gained yard? choking in the redzone on that goal line play? what gives?

Ha, with all we've been through, I'm not sure we've seen anything like the **** show that is going to take place between now and signing day.

Yant had very limited options coming out of high school for a reason. Not a disciplined guy. He has raw talent for sure, but he isn't all in, and he isn't very smart. He probably would've gotten better if we would've just let him work through some things on the field. I am hoping for Scott to spell Johnson, as Stepp has had a certain attitude in media availability that suggests he is not bought in, but is smart enough to act like it.

He is back in Florida. Was told to go in during 2nd half of OSU game and said no. Frost called him out in front of team the following Monday and he packed up and left. Don’t expect him to come back.

I am so glad these coaches got **** canned. All the problems on offense are a discipline problem. Time to move on with players who don't need ego stroked.

It looks like most of our RB room is gone, so either we did a really crappy job of recruiting the guys with the right attitude or they're leaving for a legitimate reason. Either way, that's 100% the responsibility of the coaching staff.

Two talented backs gone in a week.

The rate of attrition has been ridiculous. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Frost rubbing people the wrong way and hastening players’ departures.

Frost and fans will continue to shift blame to players. Yes it was a weak move by Yant not going in. But there is a time and place for criticism.

Part of your job as a college coach is managing guys with egos who are impulsive 19 year olds. Yant fvcked up not going in and I’m sure he knew it. SF can either reach out privately, connect and mend a bridge or call a guy out in public to humiliate him and make the situation worse.

Whether it’s Wandale leaving, Yant, any of the Florida crew last year, or the mass exodus of Riley guys… Frost has consistently shown that he does not have the interpersonal skills required to lead this team.

You can stick with the tired BS that we don’t need any of these guys, no heart, only alphas, etc. But we need ballers, attitudes or not, and many of these departures were preventable.

Not sure. But if you remember in the 4th quarter on the last drive they went with Stepp after Rhameer got knocked out.
oregon ran all day on osu, so it's not like they have the armstrong on a stecher defense this year. lol
I seen yant as our redzone rb...this is not a good development....

Our attrition rate isn’t high. It’s like middle of the pack in the conference. To date I can think of maybe two players that have left and been successful somewhere else. Transfers are part of the game and losing a couple backup RB’s isn’t unusual.

So many people on here want disciplined, hard working self-motivated young men who earn their playing time. Than when the opportunity presents itself, their performance in games merit more playing time if practice is acceptable. It seems SF is trying to ingrain those habits as part of his “culture”.

I am not privy to the actual practice habits or do I grade game film like in my younger days. It ain’t worth the time anymore. But i get a constant feeling that this new era will rub many Nebraska fans the wrong way. To many players who will disappoint our idea of fair and equal treatment And how the players respond to perceived or actual treatment.

I wouldn’t want to be a assistant coach or even head coach. At least on the power five level, those coaches are much more well compensated in the last twenty to thirty years since Osborne and his era. Those television contracts are big-time security for men’s basketball and football.

Can anyone help me out here?

Am I supposed to mad because Frost is too hard on players in this case?

I am just never sure whether I am supposed to believe Frost is a players coach that can't hold people accountable or too tough on players and forcing them out.

Yant is just a symptom of the problems at Nebraska. It just shows the instability of the program. Nebraska will not be relavent for the next 5 years , and may never be a major player in football again.

Nebraska will never be relevant in college football again because a backup, walk-on RB may have left? Get out with that nonsense.

Players leave everywhere that is the game today. Some of the teams that lost the most players last year (MSU) are playing the best football right now.

I would feel really bad about this if he could be counted on to get 3 inches on fourth down.

I don't know, I guess I agree with you... but Yant was good. Maybe he needed to go because of his attitude but the guy could run the ball. He actually looked like a Nebraska running back. Him leaving is a loss.

I liked him. I obviously wish he was still around, but that post was just sooooo stupid. Everyone loses some players, certainly doesn't mean they will never be relevant again.

I agree He is Good , but why isn’t he staying…. Instability I don’t blame him, he is NFL quality. It was great when Nebraska had great backs that were committed to Nebraska for 3-4 years. They committed because of the stability and the quality development
I hate living in the past. But that’s all Nebraska football has right now (past successes) Nebraska is a worthless football program right now. God bless the student athletes that come to Lincoln to try to make a difference and resurrect Nebraska football. I truly want them to succceed but it isn’t going to happen in one season
it’s gonna take 4 plus years of commitment and stability.

I would normally agree with this but if RRT confirmed it I'll accept it as likely accurate.

Maurice Washington could run the ball well also. Not trying to pick a fight, but players with attitudes have to go or the cancer gets bad.

I see it from the perspective that there will be a new group of backs willing to run through the wall for good old NU after the season. The Kool Aid will be flowing again in the spring. Then the same dumpster fire.
