One run on a highly disputed wall scraper that could have easily been called a double.

Pathetic performance against the second place Jays.

Thankfully still 2 up in the loss column. They took a horrible punch, and it really shows how unreliable the offense is, despite its recent gaudy numbers against bad pitchers, but they can still recover.

You can sit on the bench and watch yourself and your team-mates go down like duck pins every inning, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. You just know there's nothing there, All the ra ra, keep it close, we'll get em next inning means nothing...you just know.
Next series, even against good pitching Levaos, things can change in an instant...

Baseball is a game largely dependent on starting pitching and the grind of playing 162 games.Right now Ellsbury and Gardner are in terrible slumps at the top of the batting order and the Yankees have been overly dependent on the home run .

Yanks are at Cleveland in the next series while Toronto is home vs the A's. After getting swept at home this is a real pennant race. Jays trades for Tulowitzsky and David Price could make them the favorites at this point.

I love the Yanks but have to admit I'm very worried about the Jays at this point.

The Yanks are done with the west teams on the road, which is good, and the Jays still have to go to texas and california, which helps the Yankees out some but on the other hand they have 10 head to head games with us and unfortunately, this is probably in their favor. I hate to say this because I have been a Yankee fan for parts of eight decades. and don't forget A-roid has had one good Sept and post season in 20 something years. and Tex has none, or maybe one at best. And Giradi has to put his computer away and stop knowing what innings he going to put in players before the game even starts.

We'll find out how great this Yankees team is over the next several months.
And if you go back to the beginning of that Mets thread you'll see that I wasn't thrilled with this team early in the season and unhappy that they didn't do enough to improve in the offseason or at the trading deadline. Toronto has used a different strategy.
Also, as a long-time baseball fan I've long ago come to understand that my team....no matter how good they are....is gonna lose at least 60 games during the season. And probably have several losing streaks. That doesn't mean that every loss doesn't annoy me....just not as much as it once did.

Advice for Mets fans: baseball goes in cycles.

That advice is best for Yankees fans like Kbee. Unless I am mistaken, I don't see any Mets fans reveling in the Yankees current doldrums. Mets fans are well-acquainted with doldrums.

Just last week, a guy I am somewhat friendly with posted something on his facebook page that Mets fans could only dream of going 8-2 like the Yankees recently did. I did not think once about how the Yankees would do when the Mets won 7 in a row. It's the little brother crap Yankees fans pull that irritates Mets fans. They are both local teams, and while I cheer for the Mets, I don't laugh at the Yankees when they do bad or cheer against them. Same for the Jets/Giants.

Well, I don't know any Mets fans that don't cheer against the Yankees. And I know plenty of Mets fans....too many actually.
And BTW the Mets ARE the little brother.
