I’m running north on I-35, heading towards Missouri. The better looking half and I are going on a mini vacation. We are taking a mid-week trip to Chicago on our way to a wedding in Ohio next weekend. Why do weddings always interrupt sporting events?

First we are going to see downtown Chicago and my Cubbies play for the first time since Sandburg was playing and my Dad was alive. We had one of my best days ever in the outfield bleachers . I was born in Chicago and Dad lived there almost his entire life. I got him to go to a game with me in the early '90s and we had a blast. I put the picture we took together with a beer and Chicago Hotdog in our hands while standing in the Wrigley Field bleachers in his casket over 10 years ago.

I will probably miss the Super games, so I leave it to you degenerates to hold serve while I do the family thing. It is important for you to do so though because I got the wife to agree to take our "mad" money fund and use it if we make it far in Omaha. I don't think we could book rooms for the whole thing if we go to the finals again, but who knows.

I have a feeling about this team, but I need you ******** to hold the fort while I am in Yankee land.
