C’mon your just stupid or rubbing in a 1 game off night performance about 2 great players that would dominate at Duke or WVU. Elmore would start and average 20 at WVU, Villanova or Duke. He would adjust to the pressure and settle down if it were a series or rematch. It’s 1 game.

WVU is simply the better team.

Off night? Really. That's what your going with. Would not matter how many times Elmore played WVU Carter and Miles would slap him silly. The kid has never seen top defensive talent. He is good for CUSA. But would not see any PT for Duke, WVU, Villanova. He might see some mop up duty.

Elmore no doubt is a pretty good player. Its even better he's a WV boy. But....

He reminds me a lot of Eron Harris (but without the bad attitude).

A streaky shooter with range that can average 18 a game. When he's on he'll give you 28. When he's off maybe 9.

Unfortunately, the man he's guarding will get 25 a game (putting us down 7 already) because of his slow feet. Not his fault, can't change genetics.

So, basically we already have Elmore's on our team. They are Logan Routt and Chase Harler. Good role players who know their roles because they see the difference in ability levels every day in practice. Put them on Marshall and they probably start and do well in conference USA. But, it wouldn't work out as well if all these WV boys started for WVU - we'd win 15 games tops.

Elmore did nothing to impress be aside from the NBA range threes. He's good for mid-major basketball and that's his ceiling. His brother, Ot, on the other hand may have a promising future in local eating competitions.

If Elmore was on WVU's team, regardless of his shooting ability, my fear would be his inability to hang on to the ball when he experiences any serious man on man or trapping pressure. Even if he did have WVU players surrounding him, as he stands now, teams might see him as a weak link to be exploited by applying a lot of pressure to him. That being said, if he has wide open shots with nobody in his face, he's a lights out shooter.

I think the same thing about Trae Young.
I do not think physically Elmore or Young are NBA ready due to the grind of the NBA season,

When I said everybody I’m saying not all of our recruits pan out. Let me refrase that. If we recruit 10 players over 2 years maybe 4 turn out good. The others are usually misses. That’s most schools though. That’s recruiting. That’s why we need to recruit at least 1 top WV kid or so every year. We miss out on good ones too often.

Huggs is coming around though. He got Brandon Knapper and has offered Obinna, Early and scouted the others. He’s looking at them. Still evaluating. That’s good.

Elmore would average 18-20 points playing next to Jevon.

That and the talent...in Elmore's case. NBA talent in college is when the opposing team hold's its breath when you have the ball. I was never worried when Elmore had the ball. And if I'm not nervous sitting at home, I have no doubt no WVU player was overly concerned about him.

Sidenote: WV boy or not, Elmore can choke on one after what he did to Esa. F'n punk.

Trae Young is elusive with the dribble

Not to mention he is a step or two quicker than Elmore without the ball

Jevon Carter shut both down this year but Carter has the potential to be a Ruben Patterson type player in the NBA

If I was Elmore I wouldnt even worry about the NBA
He will be stuck in the D League.
To me he is as good as Jimmer Ferdette and Jimmer is the best player in the Chinese League
Elmore could sign a huge contract over there and play a lot of minutes on a quality team

Very few NBA teams are looking for his skill set anymore because almost every guard has the capability of hitting 35% from long distance

Really? WVU and Marshall in the Mountain East Conference with Concord and FSU. great idea.

Of course I’m talking traditional state Rivals. It’s a little tougher for smaller states but WVU/Marshall is a decent draw and good for WVU. At least it seems that way.

Elmore could play anywhere. One bad game against a top defensive team. He scored 27 points against a top 20 team in the NCAA tournament 1st round. Duke, Villanova are great teams but they wouldn’t defend and pressure Elmore like WVU did. Elmore would light those teams up. He would be great at WVU too.

Basketball is a difficult game to judge because there is only one ball

Meaning that you place the ball in the best player's hands.
At WVU that would be Carter
When down one with one minute left you want Carter to have the ball

At Marshall it is Elmore

Without the ball Elmore gives your team nothing expect a streaky shooter

Defense and rebounding in underrated in basketball in terms of the viewer but not in the results

Elmore without the ball is a liability because he is soft and one dimensional

This thread is full of Lulz.

Marshall winning one game at the NCAA Tourney is like an ugly girl getting asked out for the first time. Now she won't stop taking duck face selfies on her new Instagram account... with 2 followers.
