IM pretty sure the other players are wearing Axe cologne and he has allergies. It’s not his fault

You've got two options with Knox.

1. He's got low court IQ. just not smart.

2. He doesn't care and has already checked out (my opinion)

As an athlete and former coach I think there's plenty of evidence it's the latter. Typical selfish player that wants to shoot the ball but not defend it. He wants others to play defense and just get him the ball on offense.

Knox needs to sit. I don't care how many points he scores. Park him on the bench and tell him he's not playing until he plays D.

I'd rather see him foul out of the game with 10 to go while causing havoc all over the court than score 20 and play like he has been.

A young kid like him, it might light a spark. I would hope he doesnt go the other way, maybe he needs some type of tough love encouragement.

Knox is very good at finishing in the lane. Occasionally, gets hot from 3. Otherwise, just way too content to let someone else make plays.

That's what I remember from him in the McDonald's game. Occasionally, he'd make a play but mostly you didn't realize he was in the game.

It's just conjecture on everyone's part as to why.

or did I just never noticed (until last few games) that he rarely runs hard, blocks out well, or plays good defense. And seems a step and half slow on offense.

He's young (ready made excuse for everything this team does).

One of Knox's struggles is he can't go left. Teams overplay him to his right now, and he has no answer.

Some truth to this. Diallo and Knox have both taken hard fouls on breakaways. You know their career flashed before their eyes.
And I think a lot of the problem is that by not having enough outside scoring threats, teams are able to key on Knox.

It's not that hard to decipher. Knox and a few others don't understand winning basketball for whatever reason.

How do you know this?

Knox talked about it openly in recruiting interviews. Calipari told him he'd fill Monk's role. Coach K said he'd fill Tatum's role. Roy told him he'd fill Jackson's role.

Cal was the only one ballsy enough to offer playing time at the SG position, which appealed to Knox, even though he has no business playing SG at the college level.

There's no defense (pun intended) for this play. What happened? Did he hear something that scared him? That is just awful. It's so bad Rob Lock is embarrassed for him......:D

I’ve said it before. Some of these kids are just punching the clock until they can enter the draft.
Besides Knox none of the others are locks. If someone drafts Diallo or Washington or Vandy then they need to have their head examined. Shai could go

I wonder if part of it is him conceding this year is a wash and has decided a half hearted effort is his best chance atstaying injury free before draft....

I think it's just his personality. He is a very laid back kid and with his size and athletesism, things on the basketball court have come pretty easy to him.
It's possible he has never had to work hard to be better than the competition.

Maybe its me, but it seems like knox really started struggling with his shot when cal
started talking about having him drive the ball and not just be a shooter.
It's like it got him thinkin too much .
The same thing happened to wiltjer when cal decided to expand his game.
