or did I just never noticed (until last few games) that he rarely runs hard, blocks out well, or plays good defense. And seems a step and half slow on offense.

Doesn't want to take any risks or chances, he's just trying to finish the year out, regardless of the team and get ready for the NBA, just the honest truth. He's playing tentatively that's why he won't post or mix it up at all on the floor. That said, he still hustles more than most of everyone else on the team, just shows how bad things have become.

Whether true or not, this is what will be stated. I dont see how any kid doesn't realize that this costs you draft slots and lots of money, if indeed the case.

Knox will get drafted on potential, I guess he is not worried about his first contract, maybe he thinks he can make it up on second.

I've noticed it since Game 1.
There was a game in late December where I called Knox out for his lazy play and how he disappeared, but I got shamed by many because Knox scored 16 points in the game, so therefore I had no idea what I was talking about.
News flash: just because a guy scores a decent amount of points doesn't mean he's playing up to par.

Knox is one of the players that is playing for the name on the back of the Jersey and not for the name on the front. He either can't play defense or simply does not want to. I can take losing, I can't take players who do not play hard and give it their best effort. Good luck in the NBA with the lack of effort he shows in the games.

No he doesn't... he leads by example on poor hustle. Especially on transition defense and offense.

I can't disagree, though at least he motors on the floor to score and drive the lane, a lot of the players are even to lazy to do that, sadly so. He's a dandelion in a field of weeds...

I’ve noticed he doesn’t challenge lay ups since game 1.

It’s infuriating. Imagine how Cal feels. As big and long as he is, he should be a terror on D, should be able to guard close to 5 positions. Idk who coached this kid growing up, but that coach sucked *** and did Kevin no favors. Cal can’t fix Kevin’s problems.

OH MY LORD.. that is like grade school level defense.

Then to get mad at little 5’7 Quade...smh. I don’t know how Cal deals with it. I think he should just sit on his hands next game and let them figure it out.

There was another great D play at the very beginning of the game....the pick n roll defense Dakich laughed about. The worst pick n roll defense ever. Damn Nick Richards jumped out real quick to the wrong side of the pick, like he knew the Guard was going to refuse the pick and go the other direction. Guard took the pick and the wide open lane Nick gave him straight for an uncontested layup. It was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

OMG, I didn't see the game, but if that clip is any indication, we should have lost by 40. What the hell was Knox doing?

There is honestly no logical explanation for that play. In fact it's hard to fathom how that could happen without intentionally going in the opposite direction.

Knox is fine. He’s the only player on the team that can score. This team goes as far as Knox will take them.

One of Knox's struggles is he can't go left. Teams overplay him to his right now, and he has no answer.

Some truth to this. Diallo and Knox have both taken hard fouls on breakaways. You know their career flashed before their eyes.

Cal claims that he told the players that very thing. Like he always says he cant hide you, Scouts will notice. If he benches Knox for messing up who does he put in?

You've got two options with Knox.

1. He's got low court IQ. just not smart.

2. He doesn't care and has already checked out (my opinion)

As an athlete and former coach I think there's plenty of evidence it's the latter. Typical selfish player that wants to shoot the ball but not defend it. He wants others to play defense and just get him the ball on offense.

Knox needs to sit. I don't care how many points he scores. Park him on the bench and tell him he's not playing until he plays D.

I'd rather see him foul out of the game with 10 to go while causing havoc all over the court than score 20 and play like he has been.

It's pretty sad when a guy like Vanderbilt who has been injured a lot through his whole basketball career still gives 1000x the effort than Knox does who doesn't have nearly the worries injury wise.

Knox is fine, his teammates need to get him the ball in the right place and time.
