Good lord. I’m falling off the Rhule bandwagin but this thread is freaking terrible. Op says he stopped listening to the preachers press conferences then cherry picks a quote and says wtf is this. Zero convictions from OP

That's why he is called King_Wrong.

There are upsets in CFB every week because of situations like this. Sometimes Coaches and players don’t take teams serious. If everyone did there would be zero upsets. There is nothing to see to feed your agenda and dislike for Rhule.
Plenty to see this past Friday

I long ago came to expect nothing but hot air from our Team Mom

But seeing this quote made me do a double take

I didn’t listen. Rhule just sounds like the grown ups in Peanuts to me at this point.

I simply read the tweet then posted it because it is so ridiculous.

No, I would not have thought a comment like that was bad at all. I'm not a vocal critic of Rhule, looking for something to complain about. But I'm also not an unconditional a$$ kisser.
Sorry, but I call bs. If you're moaning about what he actually said, then you'd complain about my hypothetical. That's because in my hypothetical it acknowledges he didnt get players ready and that he didnt take Minnesota seriously.

Its not about being an *** kisser. I'm pissed at Rhule for the crap product on the field. My point is that some people are acting like what he said post game matters when it comes to their opinion of him.

He followed up on this quote later because he knew he'd stepped in the **** a little bit. Honestly, he's getting to the point where he talks so much that I'm not sure his "stream of consciousness" is in his best interest.
Without dogging Matt, I thought much of what he said took on kind of a parental slant.

Sort of like, as a parent we know we have obligations and responsibility when our kid(s) screw up. So your 16 year old gets into a little fender bender and you know as parent, you have the responsibility to take care of the deductible, etc. But, at the end of the day you weren't driving the car.

I equate it to,"Yeah, the buck stops with me but I wasn't the one fu*king up out there." I'll take the rap, but I'm really not the one to blame. He's not being genuinely accountable.

When the guy in charge implies that his staff took an opponent too lightly, he looks like a dope who lacks accountability. What part of that is incorrect?

Nothing.

I feel like I've spelled out very clearly what my point is. Not sure where the confusion is?

Literally nothing he could say where you'd be, "Oh, okay. That was a good explanation."

Which is fine, but anyone upset over this, don't pretend like you would accept any other type of comment by Rhule.

It doesn't matter what any coach or player says or the reason why, we stunk up the place. Now try & fix it and go win some games.

As usual, the drama queens are losing their minds after a loss. As much as it sucked, there’s still football to be played. Maybe this will act as a wake up call. Looking forward to a few more weeks of Husker football.

If some of the assistants weren’t taking Minnesota seriously, they should be told to pack their bags. With the money they make, they should take every opponent seriously and do everything they can to win EVERY game. There are only 12 regular season games, so that shouldn’t be too much to ask.

As usual, the guy who referred to Uncle Donnie as an “8” mere weeks ago is pointing the finger from high atop Mount Pious.

Huskers are 131st in the country in sacks allowed by percentage. USC QB has only been sacked 4 times this year and has faced MICH, ILL and N DAME.

You are correct. Many people are against him so it doesn’t matter what he says. He might as well call the fair weather fans a bunch of pu$$ies
I didn't like Bo, he was very arrogant, quite ignorant, delusional, and he hired some really bad people as coaches...but he was one of the winningest coaches during his time at Nebraska...he wasn't going to win anything worth remembering but his teams beat OSU, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin...Bo was fired because of the changing cultural tides that he didn't handle well, like physically assaulting players on the sideline, or being a prick to fans or refs...but he at least back it up with winning to some extent. Rhule, acts like he has done something at Nebraska, talks like he knows something. He is clueless in 2025 about how to run a program, he should be humble, admit it, and attempt to grow...not belittle his players and assistants for "not being ready". Just a simple, I am embarrassed, the buck stops with me and I let people down, and I need to go back to drawing board to get better.

Gone soon as in years? Unless he goes to PSU he ain't being fired.
I don’t trust that thinking. He will cost them more revenue when the folks lose their faith with him than his contract buy out is worth. They won’t have much of a choice.

Is it possible to find the dogs still in this sport? Like the guys who are hungry players and coaches?

Yeah but unless his team fully collapses I don't see him being fired this year. Next year maybe.

Rhule will be here a minimum 5 years unless he chooses to leave.

Wisconsin beat him like a drum. So did the others. I think with Bo, he thought he was working hard and he kind of was, but the dedication to be the best was a whole other level. He developed talent. But if he could’ve recruited better, that would’ve put him over the top.

He also seemed to lose his ability to relate to players. His later teams at Youngstown and DC at LSU seemed to not really care for him. That's just what I saw from the outside.

Absolutely true.

But how the heck can you not take a team serious that is 7-1 against you in the last 8 and riding a six-game winning streak?

He is only Nebraska coach to have beat Ohio Stare since we joined Big 10.
Maybe it wasn’t a mistake in letting him go ( bigger mistake were the coaches hired after him ) but with how it has all played out we would do anything to have 9 and 10 win seasons now.

Lol. The only reason he beat OSU was because their starting quarterback left the game and was replaced by Bauserman. OSU was on the path to victory until that happened.

I’ve never believed the line of BS people say that Bo would have petered out in 2015 and 2016. The 2015 team could have competed for a conference title with Bo.

What’s up with the persistent lip licking?
I imagine if I spent time with you I could find something to say, "whats up with the persistant .............." Why be so hypercritical on everything? Probably just a nervous habit. When I work on something tedious I stick my tongue out, so what!
