This right here! I stopped being a fan after having to stress through every post-season on top of him not being able to win the games we should and struggling against much lesser teams.

I quit liking Mullins several years ago when he publicly became a *****!

Same. That and he was perfectly ok with being Hugh Freeze’s personal ***** on and off the field so that annoyed me too. I had no idea he was leaving for Tennessee/Florida during the 2017 Egg Bowl but I was ready for him to pack his **** and go after that game. There is zero excuse to lose to Matt Luke in anything football related.

Pretty tight ship. 3 Cardinal rules. Don't steal, don't hit a woman, no pot. He will boot guys, no warnings

Your guys will make grades and mostly stay out of the police blotter.

Sounds like a winner. Violating any of those three should be immediate loss of scholarship and removal from the team.

Wait...isn’t recreational marijuana allowed in Washington state? Seems like something pretty hard to enforce and verges on infringing freedom.

Is Leach Mormon? He sounds religious after his “if you believe lightning strikes mud” deal.

How willing is Leach to change up/modify his offense? Will he find ways to take advantage of a player with a particular strength? Or is he a stubborn ******* who will keep trying to shove square pegs into round holes....like some other coach we all know well.

Leach doesn't use a TE (so any you have on your roster might start looking at the transfer portal). He will use that extra scholarship on an OL. He typically took 5 OL in every class. To end with numbers on the OL, you have to start with numbers.

The result was 3 NFL players, one more in the program and a multi year All American, which for WSU, is pretty unprecedented.

He employs wide splits, which spreads the DL out and makes them start further away from your QB. It's crazy the first time you see it.

He may not land a lot of 4 or 5 star guys, but they'll be big, they'll qualify and they'll mostly stay healthy.

Great post. Very informative. “Wide splits” is what I was thinking of.

It seems to me like that philosophy is very effective, except against elite DT’s. Which, again, hell every offensive line technique struggles against elite DT’s. So, that a little redundant. But, Leach’s system and career offensive numbers speak for themselves. And like you said.. he’s put multiple OL in the NFL from WSU, which is unprecedented. I remember Andre Dillard being a beast. I know he’s with the Eagles now. Was he highly recruited? I’m assuming not.

Oh, and how important were Special Teams to Leach? Was there enough emphasis on excelling in that phase of the game? Would he let offensive/defensive starters return kicks/punts or no?

I wouldn't say ST was emphasized, but it wasn't neglected either. He canned a ST mid season one year when it was really bad.

Starting WRs on returns and pretty good kickers.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you will hang around. I've always liked WSU and really followed you when Leach came. My wife's ex had a brother who played TE there.

My question is did you remember any example of when Leach made changes to adapt for a player to shine.

Nope, that is not his style. The offense is what it is and won't change much depending on who you have. Obviously you'll throw a ton, but will rotate 8 WRs, so no one guy will catch a ton. So, if you've got a bit of a diva WR, he may not be happy.

You pretty much answered my question. And no sir, I don't like it.

Dillard was hardly recruited at all. He was small coming out of HS. Maybe 240-245ish?

How do y'all manage to get Ol Crimson (I think that's its name) around the country to every Game Day? Impressive feat BTW.

There's a booster club and a network of alums. The flag is FedExed from location to location. Leach got Gameday to Pullman. He'll always be a legend for that.

We do not have 8 quality WR's. We barely have 3.

No question, id just like you to know that the Wazzou flag at Gameday is one of the coolest things about college football. It’s so cool that you guys keep it up.

He did go to BYU. Not sure if he's mormon or not.

Sorry if this has already been asked.

I have not read it all.

Not yet. Just in the suites. There's a beer garden just outside the stadium. They just started selling beer at basketball games though, so football is hopefully just around the corner.

Are you regretting coming here yet and answering everybody's questions? I'm sure the board is just getting warmed up.

Not at all. When we hired Leach, the Tech fans were really cool coming to our board and telling us what to expect.

Figured if Leach ever left, I'd try to do the same.

Will be fun to have an SEC team to follow and root for.

Much appreciated response. I can see why he does that to prevent any divas and making it a team game. I was just wondering if he got a really talented RB if he might create some of the offense around them because we have had far more RB talent than WR.

Still, it wouldn't be a bad thing to reverse that IMO. I want to see what he can do with the horses he can recruit in the South.

I still wish you guys luck. I always favor the state colleges over the tea sipping "flagship" shitheads in any state football matchup.

That was one of the best gameday openings ever. Phenomenal scene in Pullman.

That's actually OK because diva WRs have never really worked for us.
