Ok, back to basketball for at least a few minutes. Really nice article by OnTheBanks (Dave White). Even though it ended badly, was still a great season. Best RU hoops season since I came to the Banks in 1980.

This team was peaking at the right time too. Sweet 16 would have been a distinct possibility. The what if convos will go on forever.

Reading the team reaction it seems like us fans need a lot more validation than they do. The players know what they accomplished and don't need any of us or the selection committee to validate that. And for that, my hat is off.
That's a good observation. The players are there ones who laid it all on the line since last summer, but their leadership (Pike and the captains) hasn't let them get too down about this. They know they did what many thought couldn't be done, especially this season.
As for the fans, we're often living vicariously through these guys. Some of us have waited 10, 20, 30 years or longer for a season as fun as this one was. I know this feeling of disappointment will fade at some point, but hopefully I can look back and remember all of the good times and smiles that we had cheering for this special team.
