Trying to catch up, reportedly the 90 no compete for the MCMG's ends six days before AEW runs Detroit again.

WWE and the CW announced they will be the new home for NXT's big shows. (I refuse to call them PLE's.)

Double Or Nothing is close to being sold out with about a month to go.
I rad they opened up every seat reasonably possible, which would put it less than 100 shy of breaking the DoN attendance record. They could potentially break the record if some production holds are released but we likely wouldn't open those until late in the week.

Following a lengthy run on Peacock, NXT premium live events are moving to The CW this summer, starting with the Great American Bash.
According to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, WWE and The CW announced the move Tuesday, noting that 20 NXT PLEs will air on The CW over "the next several years."
The CW has been home to NXT's weekly show since 2024 when the two sides reached a five-year deal for NXT's broadcasting rights.
Have fun with development brand premium matches being interrupted with commericals.

Oh, I did read today that there was an appearance of The Tongan Death Grip on Raw last night! That's a move from back in the day I always loved.

Hope we see a heart punch revival in the future!

  • Adam Cole - has flamed out due to chronic concussion issues but he was at the center of one of the hottest stories in AEW history that sold 80K+ tickets in Wembley Stadium
Would all go above Andrade. Andrade's first run in AEW was largely trash. Love what he is doing now but he hasn't been around long enough to have had as big of an impact as the above have. I;m not sure anything he does in AEW will ever top what several of those have done. His history doesn't dictate things will end well.
lol ricochet hasn’t done anything more than being a twitter bully and a mark for himself.

PAC is the least interesting of the death riders - his impact is minimal

the rest sure but the one that should be here but you can’t put on is Keith Lee - idk what happened but guy was primed to be a star and Covid/injuries/etc held him back

I wasn't watching NXT at the time, but I've seen clips and it looked like that guy had everything you need to be a star. That clip where he blocked Cole and Cole flew like 20' into the crowd was just insane. Hope he's alright.

Speaking of Cole he’s debatable. MJF made him in that feud then what was Cole going to do. Kind of like Toni made Mariah in there feud.

Cole was a made man the second he debuted in AEW.

But how many PPV main events and major stories has Andrade been a part of? I don't think it's even fair to Andrade to put him in that discussion yet as he has barely touched the surface of what he can do and what AEW can do with him if he keeps his head on straight. With the if part of that sentence carrying a lot of weight.

Cole was a “made man” b/c they basically ported over the undisputed era gimmick right over to AEW. What memorable storyline has he been in other than MJF?
MJF makes everyone look better bottom line.

Name any memorable story (memorable because it's good, not memorable because it was trash) that Andrade has been in in AEW

Agreed, first Andrade run was trash but man, his TNT title match with Cody was fire, pun intended.

I wasn’t talking about you but appreciate you over analyzing it and taking it personal.

IF you have kids then yikes.
I hate kids. I would never subject a child to being raised by me for that simple fact alone. No way in hell I would ever give them the proper care and attention they deserve.

That’s good to know but it’s also a point noted you need to look into therapy - all your hatred isn’t healthy.

Ya no idea - someone said they were supposed to get wm43 - wonder if they built the new stadium with an informal guarantee they’d host one.
All I know is they need to start giving it to the cities they said would get one. If Nashville doesn't get this one, that's a three-city backlog of New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Nashville. How long until some cities stop making big bids because they can't trust WWE to follow thru if WWE grants it to them?

Pulling the rug out from New Orleans after it was already announced and plans had started to be put into motion only to turn around a year later and essentially admit it was a mistake to run the same place back-to-back was egregiously bad long-term business strategy.

To the surprise of no one, thought Dynamite was another good show.

Good news for AEW, last night's show had over 5,200 people. That's the highest Dynamite number in the US since 2024's Grand Slam.

Bad news, next week's show in Charleston is currently one of the lowest numbers ever for a Dynamite. (1,480 as of last night)

Hard to believe 20 years ago today was Backlash 2006 at Rupp Arena. Main events of

Edge vs. John Cena vs. HHH
Vince and Shane vs. HBK and "God"

And in my opinion the best match of the night

Shelton vs. RVD

Anyone else there for that show?

Last time they went to Charleston it set the Dynamite record low for an arena. That market should have been blacklisted after that. AEW's live events scheduling will never make any sense to me. They just make some of the same stupid mistakes over and over again, sometimes eventually learning after making the same mistake a few dozen times.
