The development and retention at that position has been abysmal, and has to be at or near the bottom in all college football if such data where kept I would think - even in the portal era.

I feel terrible for any high school recruit who signed up to play for our last staff.

My eyes just crossed Bonner and Jones and for a second I thought we had a guy named Victor Bones Jr.... dang it! But hey, can we get a new annual award called the Morgan-Pierson-El Trophy for the WR who best exemplifies the ability to.... graduate?

looks like we need to stop recruiting HS receivers then, just go the transfer our JC route. This gives Coleman and others a very slim probability for success, here. Unless Rhule completely flips the script from the past 10 years.

Well prepare yourselves because there's going to be more WR attrition between now and the first game in the Fall. There has to be because there are so many at that position and the roster has to be cut back.

Part of the issue with the WR transfers under Frost was the turnover in WR coaches and OCs. We had 3 different WR coaches and 3 OCs in 5 years.

Agree with this. A lot of throwing darts and changing strategies. Also hurts to lose guys like Robinson and Spielman. One thing to lose a guy who never did anything. But losing high level starters is just unacceptable.

Out of curiosity, which players on this list went on to play for P5 teams?
Robinson, obviously
Spielman, although injuries set him back
Lindsay, played in 6 seasons with a transfer year and Covid year
Nixon, plays at Washington as a hybrid RB/WR
Grim, played at Fresno State (G5)
Anyone else?

Large list of recruits, small list of P5 transfer contributors. Does that mean anything?

I think Marcus Fleming went to Maryland but not sure if he has played or still there.

Fleming had 18 catches at Maryland in '21, then got into trouble with domestic assault charges and entered the portal again, but don't think he played last year. He was one of the many FL recruits that Frost brought in that lasted at NU as long as crap in a goose.

Fleming was part of the 2020 class that had 7 high school recruits from Florida (Fleming, Francois, Greene, Delancy, Gray, Scott, and Lynum). Only Lynum is still on the team. I believe Francois might have been the one with the tumultuous signing day ceremony.
