Since it looks like we might actual get Stevens according to some rumors, it would really help him to also get some transfer receivers. This is what's on the 24/7 transfer portal site for wide receiver with guys who haven't signed anywhere new. Do we have a shot at any of these guys? Could any of them make an immediate impact next year. Charles from Penn State would be nice and I think any of the guys from Washington State would be good pickups if they can play immediately as much catching as they had to do even in practice in that offense.

Can someone please explain to me what the huge deal is about the transfer portal? Is it supposed to help them gain immediate eligibility? It seems to me that the same rules apply, sit out one year unless you're a grad transfer or you have some family hardship or whatever, or a probation situation like Ole Miss. What is the new part of this?

For example, that Penn State receiver makes sense for obvious reasons, but he would have to sit out right?

You can now transfer with out being given approval by the school you are currently playing. All other rules still apply. I think the portal is the term the NCAA came up with when you are transferring.

There's really not a "huge deal" about the transfer portal. You just hear about it a lot more because it's more public.
