While it's hard to argue with your numbers, fixing the offense will kill two birds with one stone. The D would be much more effective if they a) weren't on the field so damn long and b) got to play with a lead every once in a while.

I'd almost be satisfied if the opposition wasn't starting at, or near mid-field nearly every possesstion!

That would be going up 24-0 in the first quarter. Then your defense knows the opponent has to start throwing, so they just go kill the quarterback all day.
