Patrick Ewing and Georgetown just really pounded on Creighton to become the Big East Champions. They are very young and have an outstanding recruiting class coming in for next season. They just might be back for real.

If anything it highlights just how bad the Big East is. Having your 8th seed win it all at one game over .500 just screams low/mid major.
False
Georgetown went into the tournament playing playing very good basketball.
Their players got better and their team improved as the season went on.
Momentum and confidence are vital to tournament time.

No, they just beat some terrible teams. Big East is bad this year. Their last 8 games of the regular season including opponent KenPom rank.

lost by 10 at #12 Villanova
lost by 15 at home to #19 Creighton
won by 15 at home vs #116 Butler
won by 6 at home vs #52 Seton Hall
lost by 13 at home to #16 UConn
won by 8 at #133 DePaul
won by 6 at home vs #61 Xavier
lost by 16 at #16 UConn

I mean what is impressive about that? Close home wins over mediocre Seton Hall and Xavier teams? They did have a nice tourney run aided a bit by Nova being shorthanded, but let's not pretend they have been some great team recently. They just beat some bad teams mostly at home headed into the tourney.

Hopefully Georgetown is matched up with the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the tourney.

They finished the season playing well and feeling confident.

your touchy feely opinion of how they were playing is not supported by objective analysis. They had zero good wins the last several weeks of the season. If they were confident, it was confidence built up against bad opponents.

I mean which of their games can you look at right now and say that was a great win? The Creighton win yesterday? Other than that???

100% agree with this. I can’t help but laugh when I see teams like Gtown, Ga Tech, and Oregon state win their tourneys. Those teams would get smacked in the B1G. The ACC is a joke

If anything, it steals a bid from someone most likely more deserving.

That is why I was rooting for Creighton. As well as for Colorado over Oregon State. Both lost, knocking two other teams off the bubble. I just hope that we were not one of them.

But this is what makes March Madness so maddening.

You don’t have to consider beating Seton Hall twice and and Butler good wins, I do.
They used the momentum to beat Villanova, who I’m sure you think stinks

So what you are saying is that we didn't have a chance to win the Big Ten because we were a 7th seed. Teams get on a run at the end of the season and anything can happen

Georgetown has won 8 of 10 to get to 13-12. The Creighton thing, I'm sure Patrick Ewing being accosted at MSG, which still stuns me being a big Knicks fan and Ewing fan, helped with motivation. You would think security in NY would recognize one of the most famous 7'1-7'2 players that is plastered all over the Garden. They will be a tough out as a 11-13.

Would not want to be one of the last teams in this year but I am pretty sure you guys are good. Even though I have not followed quite as closely this year

Villanova would absolutely compete in the Big Ten, probably top-4 pre injuries. However ever other sorry team in the Big East would be blown out night in and night out in the Big Ten this year

It is the objective facts that consider them less than impressive, not my opinion.

Not a good year for the BE. I wouldn’t be surprised if they advance zero teams to the sweet 16.

Our resume is significantly better than Gtown, it’s not even close.

If Nebraska or Northwestern ran the table and won they tourney I’d also agree it was a bad look.

I wonder how motivated teams are in the tournaments. The bid stealing thing is a bit lame in my opinion. The committee should meet before the conference tournaments and lock in the bid counts by conference. If a bid is stolen - it should only be stolen from within the conference.

But that is the great thing about the tourney, doesn't matter how you played at the beginning or middle of the season. It how you are playing at the end if you get in, a team can get hot and run the tables. No matter, I will root for the Hoya as long as they are not playing us. A strong BE is good for college basketball
