I had heard last week the line was going to be 12 1/2 and didn't believe it. Now after a Purdue loss to Rutgers and its still 6 1/2 it makes you wonder what it might have been with a Purdue win.

We did! But the fact that is something that is said on a Husker site lets everyone know how far Riley has dragged the team down.

Using the old transitive property...about NU...with the other teams in the equation being Rutgers and Purdue.

Brohm is a heck of a young head coach. In fact, he should probably be ahead of SF on the fictional next head coach wish list

The idiots here would’ve never considered him coming from Western Kentucky, I mean he had 3 losses! And who would want him when we can get a retread like Les Miles!

You would take Brohm as Nebraska's head coach? I'm not asking Brohm over Riley as our only 2 choices, but if Brohm was Nebraska's head coach you'd be okay with that?

That’s not what I’m saying. Idiots here would’ve never considered Brohm in his last year at WKY and would prefer a retread like Miles.

Not sure which was more painful that day - watching Ryker Fyfe chuck the ball 50 times or having Johnny SuperFan insist that it was absolutely necessary because the 108th-best rushing defense in the country was stacking the box.
That game and decisions by Riley that lost the game was the nail in his coffin for me. I knew then he was flat out a bad coach

Wonder what Tuco thinks about this, we would be 12 1/2 points dogs at home to Frost's UCF team.

For me...the worst part of that loss was the super dork that tried convincing Husker fans that Purdue had a more talented roster and even went as far as to pull out some Rivals stuff.

Yeah there was also the diatribe about how NU couldn't run the ball because Purdue held us to 2 yards per carry. Of course that included all the QB sacks and a huge loss on a bad shotgun snap. The designed running plays actually produced 5+ yards per carry. But don't ever tug on Johnny SuperFan's cape - it was an excellent game plan, because he says so!

The Boilermakers did everything but win. They outgained Rutgers 474-217 and had the ball for 85 plays, 30 more than Rutgers.

Purdue dominated the Rutgers game in the stats but went -2 in the turnover margin. Sound familiar??

Expect them to be extremely focused this week after a tough loss to a lesser team.

I wish that NU was outgaining teams by that much and holding teams to that little and running that many more plays.

We have had the best recruiting class in the west since we joined the B1G. Its not talent.

Yep.

As you pointed out, since he has been here, Riley has the luxury of having the most talented players, on paper, coming in the door in this division. Every year. Our RS freshman class through our senior class.

Most talented after 2-3 years in the program? Nope.

For people that think he just needs a talent upgrade and we will get over the hump, exactly how much wider of a talent gap does he need vs. his competition in order to be competitive?
