That's emotion from a guy who feels he could and maybe should have done more for his team today. But bad shooting games happen to the best of them. Best of luck to Murray in the NBA (unless he surprises me and comes back for another year). Got a great future ahead of him.

Murray stunk it up tonight and could hit ish from outside. Oh well, he'll make his money next year I guess. Thanks for stopping by JM.

Jamal Murray's answer in locker room after the game. On if it’s his last game with UK … “Hope not. I want to be with this team. I don’t know, I haven’t really thought about that. I hadn’t planned on being out this early. This wasn’t my plan, you know. But I have to work around it and see what happens from here. But I would love to play with these group of guys again.”
He gone. Don't read too much into this. He's not coming back.

Jamal is a good kid. He plays with heart. I really enjoyed watching him play this year. He is going to make great money in the NBA next year, and I wish him the best.

Murray is my favorite wildcat of the Cal Era. Love watching him play. Ulis is a close second.

Murray IMO is the best scorer of the Cal era. He was what I thought Aaron Harrison/James Young would be. Fearless scorer/shooter and player with fire every single game.

Kinda like the 6'4 guard version of Cousins

I'd put that vid near the top of the list of "Reasons why NBA GMs should want Murray ahead of other lottery pretenders."

i hate to admit this but when you have to say "your" game wasn't good enough, then our team wasn't good enough. we're better than indiana imo, and could have won this tournament, but we weren't mature enough as a team. and yes our lack of consistent roles from our front court (mainly due to injury and some to skal not being a post player) was too much for our all-american backcourt to handle. we faced a team with one great guard who facilitated well and we had to crap the bed to lose. it sucks a big log, but it wasn't on this young man. nor ulis, who without which we would not have won 15 games.
We are never ever going to be mature enough as a team and if that's what you're expecting you're going to always be disappointed... I have said time and time again that Cal must have the best of the best to be able to win the national championship and make it to the final fours the way he recruits... we will always be young and we will always be mature and the only exceptions to the rule for the 12-team and Tyler ulis off of this team

Translated: I'm emotional right now, just like Archie Goodwin was in 2013, but in a week, I'll have realized that I'm a first round pick, play some video games with my guys, and realize I can invite them over to my mansion anytime I want to when I become a millionaire.

Then maybe you should stop pulling against Duke and UNC and Kansas because they have coaches who bring back players. They do it the right way, you are the one who seems to pull against big programs. You don't have to root against teams like that because we fail and are always to young to do it.

Murry is a tremendous basketball player and one of the most talented to play at UK. He also backs up his skills with an intense will to win. He will do very well in the NBA. He will not be coming back.

He and Tyler carried this team all year. Murray missing shots is not what cost us the game. Weak inside play did which allowed IU to concentrate their defense on our perimeter players. The bigs were this team's Achilles Heel and it was only a matter of time before they completely dissappeared again and cost us another game.

I disagree. Indiana is a better team than Kentucky. They are more balanced and can score consistently from all positions. The better team won tonight.

Nah you can't put any stock into anything they say about that after a loss. Willie is the only player I've ever heard actually give a level headed response to that question right after the season ended.

Wall said he was coming back too right after the loss.
So did mkg.

Umm....nothing wrong with that if you're playing at Vanderbilt. But this is UK

So you think every 5 star player comes thru should follow the one-n-done rule? You are completely off your rocker if you believe that. We've known for years now that
Anyone that thinks Murray is an average basketball player, is dumber than a box of rocks.

I hope that is not directed towards me?

My comment was toward Alex being OK TO BE A GREAT STUDENT!

Did you say Murray was an average BB player? never mind. I looked back and it was another poster that said It. So, no, it wasn't directed at you. The original post was not included with yours. My bad.

Re watched the game. He should be upset. He had a horrible game and we didn't play as a team. Isolation plays while players stood around. Horrible team effort last night.

For some reason I don't think you're really a Big Cat Fan.

So we've been failing and UNC and KU have been getting it done? Is that what's been happening?

Jamal missed some shots last night but he played his tail off like he did all season. He's hurting and it was probably his emotions talking about staying. But whatever he does, he'll be one of my favorite Cats no matter where he plays.

Jamal Murray crapped the bed. If you think differently, I suppose you haven't watched much of Jamal Murray this season and are merely an Indiana fan hell-bent on establishing a revisionist narrative.

Murray was face guarded the whole game and the primary focus of IU scheme was to give him zero clean looks from the perimeter which they succeeded at since and we had no answer to free him up. Is that considered "crapping the bed?"

I admit I feel bad for him but I don't feel for him like I do Alex. He's actually spent 4 years here. Give it a few days and those tears will be gone and all he will see is dollar signs. I've seen this song and dance 5 out of the 7 Calipari years.

I really feel for Alex. He could have left after his first year and didn't. It's gonna end up costing him money also. But he sacrificed for this program more than most of the other Cal players have here. That's who you should feel for!
I feel bad for all the players. They put in more hard work than the public will ever know. Alex made the decision he thought was best for him. Alex would have left earlier if he thought he was ready. He has been a great citizen/student/role model/teammate.
