When was the last time you saw ANY coach "go for two" up 27-0 (let alone completely dominating their opponent)? Again, I don't feel he ran things up in the 2nd half, on O, but that play was one of the douchiest things I've ever seen - or heard of - in my 40+ years of watching, and loving, this game.
And here B1G fans, you learn about why no one likes folks from Michigan.

Look, to everyone else here, I find some of the comments here surprising because while Michigan fans have a reputation for arrogance (I think it's undeserved, but it's there), we do not have a reputation for being disrespectful at away games and it is rare to hear that our fans did not comport themselves well in other stadiums. The worst by far are OSU, MSU and PSU fans. Nebraska fans are, by contrast, the most polite. I attended the 2014 game at RU and found the fans to be a bit rough, but I chalk it up to being new to the Big Ten and not being brought up in the midwest, where fans by and large are pretty good to opposing fans (I attended UM and went to HS in NJ). So, I have to think that the disrespectful drunkards some here encountered are no different than Notre Dame fans -- Wal Mart fans who are think of Michigan as a team rather than as a university.

Although I think Harbaugh might have been looking to send a message, especially given that Ash came from the hated OSU and the nonsense with the camps, I believe he is being honest when he says they have been working on the play and saw an opportunity to see it work. Thing is, while we fans watching the game see a blowout, Harbaugh and all good coaches are always, well, coaching, looking for an edge and, in this case, thinking about the next opponent. This was a chance to run a play under game circumstances without consequences if it did not work (and if it did not work, seeing why so a correction can be made). I really don't get the Harbaugh hate. He may not be everyone's kind of person (he's not mine; too intense and competitive for me), but he has nothing but respect from his peers. Plainly, the one's irritated by his "antics" obviously feel threatened that his methods are leading to success. Nick Saban and Hugh Freeze (cheater extraordinaire) never complained about satellite camps until Harbaugh started pulling a couple of kids out of SEC country. Harbaugh has the respect of his peers and he says nothing unkind about anyone unless they speak ill of him first (and even then, rarely). Trust me, if a Jim Harbaugh type were to be hired at RU, you would be thanking the gods for his arrival.

Yeah well listen, if Harbaugh wants to go for 2 up 4 scores on OSU or The Spartans I'd totally get it. They've both been sticking it to Michigan for a decade now. Picking on little old Rutgers is a chickens#it move in my opinion and this is the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW where he's done it. Last year someone concocted this lame story about our players talking smack in the tunnel during halftime so JH went for 2 in the third quarter up 4 TD's. And Ash never talked smack. Harbaugh clearly wants to make inroads recruiting NJ and Ash stood up for his program and had a camp the same day Harbaugh did. What's wrong with that exactly? What....we are not allowed to stand up for ourselves in our home state? I really think it bothers the UM boosters/alumni that we beat Michigan two years ago for our first ever Big Ten victory and JH is a Michigan alum.

I'm not a big fan of the idea that you can run the score up in college football if opposing defenses can't stop you, not when you're talking about programs with such big disparities. Ffs we're in the big ten and we don't even get the same money as everyone else and won't for years. Yet it's ok to beat on us because you can? There is no sport with such a tilted playing field as college football, in many ways. To ignore that is typical for America in this second gilded age but I don't really accept it.
Not bad at all in section 125 but if anyone started n R section they'd be on their a**-and out of the stadium in no time.

My experience so far with fans that I KNOW from the B1G schools from that given state are at worst a bit aggressive-and pretty much all would rather much talk about their problem-and ask questions about the Rutgers program-and school.
I will say last night:
1) The one comment I remember anyone making was my own at Harbaugh after going for the 2 point play (Maybe he was being a D-bag, maybe he wants the "practice")-both the Rutgers fans and Michigan fans seemed to be laughing.
2)I stayed to the end and I don't think I heard one bad thing said by a Michigan fan. On the way out I think both sets of fans were shellshocked for different reasons- I think more Michigan fans were interested in watching our expressions-and perhaps being cautious about possible bad sportsmanship-than anything else. One woman Michigan fan almost seemed to be upset for the Rutgers fans (feelng sorry).
**So far at least I think the MIDWESTERN fans have been cordial or friendly-its the younger, local types who probably were rejected from Rutgers that cause trouble.
In general, including our own students (the 18-21 year olds) are the ones that act like Bevis and Butthead.

I believe most of you with problems probably encountered an "east coast wanker". Every UM student/alumni hate(d) the douchebags from the east coast that attended UM because they were mostly.. well, dbags.
Not that everyone from your region is a douche.. But a lot of college aged kids with parents wealthy enough to send them to Michigan with out of state tuition costs definitely were/are. Not all, of course. But a lot.

I did mention that myself...I'm thinking the vast majority of jerkoff fans from Michigan, or RU, PSU, ND, etc for that matter both A.) Are from NJ/NYC/Philly, and B.) Most likely couldn't pass the GED, let alone get into/graduate from Michigan which is a top 5 public school in the US.

The wolf puppies on this thread were much worse than anything I saw from Michigan fans-or the Ohio State wanabees (my guess they met in NYC via meetup.com an hour before that game).
Pretty much besides the above OSU wanabees and a few of the posters here the fans from the Midwest-and even alum-have been cordial if not friendly

Our section 125 rows aren't one to mess with, though. We're tolerable but my extended area and group are full of physically big guys, attorneys and if pushed, loudmouths, and a few younger, connected types who can go toe to toe with anyone. We're fairly tolerable though...We wind up talking with some of the visiting fans-mutual curiosity about the schools and programs.
Down low-BKIn118-maybe he got rid of that one fan reported here. Has his connections and not much of a sense of humor (as a "predecessor"-like to "harass" him). Not sure I saw him and with $100 Court Club memberships he's lucky I didn't! (understand the reasoning I heard).
Our group-I don't think we've been pushed that bad but Piscataway Mike's brother himself- the pair are O-Line size)-and maybe even a few of us are personally responsible for others moving within the section. 99% of people see Mike and brother and pretty much rule out starting things up to begin with-that without drinking...
Frankly I would BENEFIT from an incident. As technically homeless my town/county's aim is to get me off on a psych disability with social security. (Despite a diagnosis 5 years ago and a "'crazy" nickname nobody's found anything yet except forced speech( Mandatory for me for housing and support. The Piscataway Municipal judge likely to hear my case is a 2-time former attorney of mine (though his partner is a good deal responsible for my homelessness and I didn't pay the final $1,200 or so I owed).
I made one loud comment at Harbaugh after the "two pointer"-and both Rutgers and Michigan fans laughed.
My experience-the few who open their mouths consistently at the games (few) are 18-30 year old Bevis and Butthead types who are non-alum of any of the schools-they couldn't get in. Mostly bandwagon fans/wanabees from NYC/NJ.

The worst type of "visiting" fans IMO are the NJ residents who either didn't go to college, went to a private/small liberal arts college without a major football program or went to a NJ commuter school like Kean, WPU, Montclair, Brookdale, etc. At some point in their lives these people latched onto popular out of state traditional powers like Michigan and Notre Dame and seem to act overly obnoxious towards RU and it's fans/alumni. In my opinion this likely stems from the insecurities they harbor because they didn't get into Rutgers or they have looked down at Rutgers solely based on athletic performance. They are worried that if the home state university ever becomes legitimately competitive with the big boys it would somehow invalidate the team they arbitrarily chose to follow/patronize and they would feel left out.
Think about it. Say you were born and raised in NJ and never went to college or you went to a vocational or community college yet you identify with Michigan University's athletic teams. Rutgers starts to beat Michigan on the reg (I witnessed us beat them 2 years ago so this dream isn't totally out of left field lol) and all your buddies who went to RU or NJ people who actually take pride in their state university are celebrating and you are left supporting some COLLEGE that you have absolutely no affiliation with whatsoever. Hell you may have never even set foot on their campus! You'd likely feel somewhat like a jackass. So these folks troll nj.com and various internet message boards trying to kill any positive momentum Rutgers ever generates on social media. I mean look at all the people piling on Rutgers on today, as if a 78-0 loss wasn't bad enough. It's really quite pathetic.
The actual Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana and Iowa alumni that I have encountered both at home and away games have been awesome, friendly people. The "Walmart Wolverine" types are the ones who give these schools a bad rep. Listen, college football is the best sport there is and we are free to cheer for whomever we want, regardless of whether or not we are affiliated with that school. However, it's one thing for alumni or parents of students from Michigan and Rutgers to engage in some friendly banter. It's another thing when we get some Walmart Wolverines crawling out of the woodwork, dusting off their Tyrone Wheatley jerseys because Michigan is finally good again, coming into our stadium and starting fights.

No bad experience as discussed but Rutgers DID beat this team 2 years ago. One of our discussions with the Michigan folks was that this Michigan team had a lot of the same personnel as then.

Yes, JH obviously makes a huge difference. And what Michigan fans should be wary of is that this is a potentially fleeting situation. I honestly think Harbaugh is back in The League within the next 3-4 years....possibly sooner if Indianapolis throws a ton of money at him to be the head coach/GM. I mean who wouldn't want to coach the best young QB in the NFL, whom he already has a relationship with? And when JH leaves...because he will eventually...there's as good a chance of Michigan hiring another Hoke or RichRod than there is someone with Harbaugh's cache and coaching ability.

Lack of wins-don't develop winning tradition (and all the benefits of such) It will take a top coach (maybe Ash, maybe not) to get the tradition back on track. Schiano proved Rutgers was capable of a top 10-15 year. Unfortunately? both Schiano's ego and "I love spreading my legs on the Florida beaches" loving wife Kristy had the chance to make a few bucks (before Schianos coaching talent was discovered). The criticism re Schiano was growing louder but I would have liked to see how he'd recruit in the B1G.
Don't be too envious of Michigan or Ohio residents. 12 or so weekends a year they have good football. 365 days a year they live in MICHIGAN OR OHIO vs New Jersey (SUMMERS and winters). Ask 100 New Jersey residents would they suffer through a Michigan winter for a Jersey summer (=weather and social life) and 50+ easily would. The "stars" of "Jersey shore" wasn't/ wasn't just the obnoxious guidos from New York (and Manaplan)-it was Seaside Heights with its beaches, bars and boardwalk "The Jersey Shore". Ironically most of us Rutgers fans think of Seaside Heights as a bit dumpy (maybe a great place to go for a night but there are so many other options- I haven't been there in 25+ years).
