4th down, 30 some secs to go down by seven. OK they pick up the first on a scramble and manage to fumble and recover the fumble short of the first down marker..lol

Talk about tough luck

5 of their 6 losses were by one score or less …. I thought those were practically counted as wins

Purdy is basically their Martinez. Looked promising, never really did much.

4 bowl games played in, won the Big 12 and a Fiesta bowl last year. He won 30 games as a starter in 4 years, Nebraska hasn’t won 30 games in the past 6 years combined.

They started the season in the top 10...with their rival at home...(I think), with 3 AA's on their team and the worst OU and UT teams in the last 10 years...

And they finished with 7 wins...

Most coaches get fired for that...for some reason Husker-Virgins think Matt is the best coach ever.

almost all coaches that enter year 4 without a single winning season and then go 1-8 in the conference are escorted off university property the second the season is over … particularly when you declare that you have the most talented team you have ever had

7 wins in one year vs 6 over two, which would you prefer?

They won in spite of Purdy. Give us breece hall and we would have won a bunch of more games.

frost and company have had every chance to go out and recruit/develop a top flight RB just like Campbell … one has succeeded and one has failed

not sure why wins are being awarded based on “giving” Nebraska Iowa State‘a best player

Campbell should have left Iowa State when the going was good.

This. I kept saying the whole last drive that Purdy is Martinez and will throw a pick or fumble the ball away. I had no idea he would literally fumble the 1st down away. Never seen that before. Love it.

Didn't care to read my own site this morning (for obvious reasons), so popped over here since I have many husker friends.

The fact that we were missing for the game arguably the best RB in CFB, best WR, best defensive player and a very good safety and had a shot to tie it up at the end...speaks to the depth of talent and fight on the team. Top 25 recruiting class coming in. We can play with just about anybody and we're getting better...I like the future of Iowa State Football and of course extremely pleased with Campbell, I'm not surprised he has stayed. He's not playing the $$$ ego game and is smart enough to value an aspect of a "non-blue blood" program - the AD actually has a ton more control of the program and is far less a slave to delusional massive donors (ie texass). He and Jamie are very tight. In my personal experience, if you have a great boss that's very tough to walk away from. I didn't even consider other opportunities.

Purdy has been an excellent QB for us, and by all signs an amazing young man, certainly has had periodic WTF moments, but cmon, not near Martinez level.....

I suggest you study this site first and it will help you understand what is happening with many posters in this thread.

You really think the playcallers would have actually adjusted their offense to use his talent?

I guess I don't understand all the hate towards Campbell and ISU. They are not in our conference and we don't have a grudge of any kind toward them. I personally like Campbell and think he is a quality head coach who is loyal to a school that gave him a shot at being a Head Coach at a power 5 school. He could of left for more money at a bigger name school but he stayed with ISU, I find that refreshing.

I wish nothing but success to him and ISU. Wishing good luck and success to another school doesn't diminish my love for Nebraska.

I didn't award anyone wins. I said Purdy wins because he has breece. Give Martinez breece and he puts up a similar W/L as Purdy.

I have always like Iowa State. Had a cousin play for them many years ago. He is now in Florida and is big in youth through high school ball. Iowa state has kept in contact with him to help evaluate talent of kids who are athletic but not quite good enough to Garner lots of attention from the big florida schools. Projects to say the least. Perfect fits for IA State

Yeah, I think the same guy who ran Royce Freeman 250 times for 1350 yards and then 280 times for 1800 yards the next year would probably do the same with a talent like Breece.

Frost took Thompkins instead and that guy earned an extra star next to his name before he blew out his knee, but Rivals let him keep his 4th star anyway. And let's face it, it's the new Nebraska way to bring in injured 4 star kids rather than a kid out of Kansas.

change “give” to “get” to emphasize the failure of our staff to get a quality RB. Campbell and staff weren’t given Hall to help Purdy. They went out and got him and developed him

Maybe Thompson from Texas will be great but it is a bit odd that we are crapping on Purdy but those same people will be fist pumping if we get Thompson

Thompson put up fewer wins despite having a more talented roster

they had nearly the same stats including both rushing for < 3 yards per carry - Purdy put up a lot more yards per game than Thompson

in fact Purdy has put up more passing and rushing yards every season - including his freshman year- than Thompson amassed this year

Thompson only started 8 games this year.

Purdy and his coach both did plenty of crapping on themselves this year. Very fun to watch!

Haven’t seen anything in 4 years and he has had some decent running backs to work with.

Obviously, not having Hall really hurt ISU last night.

As for the Purdy/AMart comparative, Purdy is finished while Adrian has a season left to play. We might want to hold off on our final judgments until this time next year.

nobody's ever lost more games as a starting QB than the guy you now have on your roster

he's been judged, the jury's deliberated, and he's sentenced to life exiled in manhattan, ks wearing purple
