I have zero involvement in moderating the board and have been on the record many, many times that I would never ban anyone, short of doing something really heinous. Having said that, though, this board is a private business and John has said many times that they will moderate the board to keep it from becoming unpleasant and unwelcoming to posters, as is their prerogative, as this board is a feeder for people who actually pay for premium. Perhaps the op would do better to bring his complaints to the mods, instead of calling me and them out.

I challenged this joker's weather contributions once and was banned by him for like a week. What a joke.

OK, I am going to chime in, lock this thread, and get back to my diabetic son whose blood sugar is inexplicably 400+ (ugh). A moderator did preemptively ban White Bus from that thread because, by several accounts, he takes the weather threads downhill and the mod on duty didn't have the time to monitor it and make sure it stayed on target. A good idea? I'm not so sure. Was it something we could discuss almost instantaneously with an email or phone call? Sure.

I've met RU848789 a couple times, found him to be a nice guy, and enjoy his weather insights. The only other interaction I have with him is when he asks for LESS moderation, not more. I deal with about 10 issues a day, but the only ones I remember coming from his direction were questions about why something was deleted. So, with that said, he never requested any moderation of that thread, nor the preemptive banning. White Bus has been on the moderator team's radar a bunch of times in the past, and in this case, I think the moderator chose preemptive thread banning over what he felt would be a near 100 percent chance of actual forum banning later on.
