We are better than both Florida and A&M! Moos is right. The SEC eats their young. Yeah, you can recruit but you're competing with so many schools. Nebraska is unique, special, storied and ready for a winner.

"Wow" as in good or "wow" as in that's low?

Seems about right to me.

This is a program coming off a 4-8 record, 3 years of .500 ball (2 seasons of below .500), 20 years since a conference championship. Of course, there's the tradition, fan base, facilities that move it up, but 20 years is a long damn time.

I’d be more impressed with the writer’s opinion if he had gone back a little further than Riley’s three years to point out our blip down from excellence. As Huskers fans know too well, our blip is now more than 15 years old. But it’s great that he likes what he sees in Lincoln.

I can see FL # 1 just based on recruiting alone. A&M is no way #2. They have done nothing in the last 20 years plus doesn't have the history or tradition like NU.

Don't let our UCF friends see this. Should be #2, btw.

Agree. Our division is weak, and Nebraska should be contending with Wisconsin every year for the Conference Champ game. Coupled with our history, I think #2 is right.

I would rank UCLA #3. A&M is in a toughly contested area for recruits. Lots of competition. If you have ever been to Westwood, that is a place where kids can fall in love with beach proximity, beauty of the campus, and gorgeous co-eds. Not to mention great University academics.

Don't be surprised when The Bruins start making noise again, real soon.

AtM biggest advantage over us is recruiting because of being in the state of Texas.

They may spend money a little more loosely than Nebraska, but like the whorns they have plenty of $$$.

Nebraska is also in the easier division in their conference.

Their proximity to Houston makes them a sleeping giant. It will potentially become a better job when Saban retires and as long as the only guy harder to understand than Diaco stays at LSU. :p

Problem with UCLA is that their fans are not great or rabid fans. And too many distractions in LA competing for time and attention.

Can’t be… according to many on this board, “Nebraska is a undesirable coaching position, the fans are delusional, and it’s impossible to recruit at a high-level”.

Here is the thing about the top 5 in those rankings. If you can get off to a solid start in a season the national media and rankings will show some love. A perfect example was Nebraska last season. Starting off 7-0 and getting up to #7 in the rankings. We really didn't beat any decent teams and the wins were all close games into the 4th quarter.

The bottom five schools in those rankings will have a much harder road to go to garner National respect. I do think that is one thing that Nebraska still has is that the National Media does want them to be good, so they can tear them down when they get there.
