Would you take Stans as an assistant?

Especially recruiting, if there could be something in his contract that he couldn't become head coach?

Not under that contract’s terms. I think he’d stagnate or leave earlier than you’d like.

Everyone in the country would take stans as an assistant. People already forgot what he brought in at aTm in about 5 minutes on the job? He’s arguably the best assistant coach in the country and has been so for 30 years. He was obviously a better head coach than we gave him credit for as well, which very much includes me.

Everyone should just move on from Stansbury. He had a good run here but that’s done so let’s just move along.

No. No. No. A thousand times no. I'm thankful for the job he did when he was here, even if it did kind of fall apart at the end. But you can't go back. That chapter ended a long time ago. Time to move on.

Yes if it were his first time coming to MSU.
No since this is reality and he was head coach for over a decade.

Agreed. I speculated several years ago when Avery Johnson was named head coach at Alabama that Stans could be brought in as an assistant then & Shmuley mentioned later that it was indeed an actual possibility.

That’s not exactly a fair statement. Yes, Western KY hasn’t made the tourney since 2013, but Stans has only been the coach there since 2016 and one of those years the NCAA tournament was canceled. Two other years WKU has lost in overtime in the conference tournament championship game. His record at WKU is 103-60 so I don’t expect him to be going anywhere anytime soon, unless the wheels fall off there like they did here.
