So are those then considered “basketball schools” or just not anything?

How would you classify the following?
- Tennessee
- Michigan State
- Iowa
Tennessee USED to be a football school. Not really much of anything anymore.

Michigan State won NC's in basketball so in my mind they are more of a basketball school than anything.

Iowa is a wrestling school :)

This is an article about the most valuable CBB programs. There’s no question about that. You haven’t answered the question

As a UK fan in all sports would you rather win the college football national championship or another hoops national championship Hypothetically for football this season. Me and a few co workers had this debate and it was a good one.
Thoughts ? 😎
I’d rather roll in the hay with one of our gorgeous cheerleaders, but sadly that’s not happening.

Why wouldn’t it ?
Too old probably have a heart attack. But now that I think about it at least I’d die happy and satisfied. You’ve talked me into to it, I’ll be coming in I mean to Lexington tomorrow. Where would be the best place to pick one up? I like blonde’s so who do you suggest I choose? I would rather have one with minimal experience so she’ll think I know what I’m doing. Is their a drug store close to the campus? What should I wear overhaul’s or biker pants? Should I buy some expensive beer or will bud select be ok? I’ll be driving my dads 1950 Cadillac that he bought at a police auction back in 1960. Still runs good on moonshine, but the tires doesn’t have any tread on them. Hopefully, they’ll make the trip from Owsley County to Lexington. Thanks Buddy, I’m feeling so good I may go out and kill a neighbor tonight if I can find one. Not many left to shoot around here since dad got out of prison. Did I ever tell you about my grandma that use to be a hooker then joined the first church of the holly saints back in 1963? Well, that’s another long story I’ll share with you later. Got to go for now my sister is hollowing at me to come to bed. She gets really feisty this time of night and I really need to practice on my stamina.

Nope. Reading comprehension is lost on you. Answer the question. Of course you used the term “always” and couldn’t qualify it—so you were a loser out of the gate.

Some of you guys need to read the OP. B hes not asking what is more likely, he’s asking “would you rather”. The poll results still show in favor of football—so pretty sure the voters are NOT saying “more likely”.

Football, not even close. I'm surprised so many are voting basketball.

Kentucky has been and always will be a basketball school. But if UK were to win a championship in football, which is as likely as me winning the lottery, you're talking about beating Bama in the SEC title game, beating the likes of Ohio State/Oklahoma/Clemson/Oregon etc in the playoffs....I mean, that would be unbelievable. I don't think there has been a team to win their first title in the past 25-30 years in football so there's no parity. If a traditionally bad football school like us won it would be touted as one of the greatest championships of all time purely from an underdog perspective.

Football is still king in America, I'd love to see UK at the top of that mountain instead of a mountain we've been on top of many times and will likely be on top of many times in the future. That said this will almost assuredly never happen as the talent gap between the top 4 football schools is so big, but man...just imagine beating Ohio State in a championship game. Would never forget it.
Auburn won a title in 1957 and again in 2010, so there is precedence.
I bet there are others, like Maybe Clemson, but it can be done.
