Earlier there was a thread about NU lacking an alpha dog player this year. Just to fill in before the tournament starts, what are thoughts on if Pat Spencer played this year?

Do we get 2020 Spencer, or a version of Spencer with in his second year of college basketball experience?

For 13 games in the middle of the B1G schedule, even the 2020 Spencer would probably have been better than what we got out of our lead guards! With the 2021 version, I bet we would have won a couple of those games with some extremely seasoned leadership plus great post-up opportunities in our "5 out" offense!

I've been thinking all year that we needed a true point guard with strength and moxie. He would have made a huge difference. Next year bodes well with better options at PG and another year of strength/conditioning. There are multiple good options to score on this team; a facilitate first kind of guard who can penetrate and score as well would make worlds of difference.

Yes. He could be a little bit of an a$$hole out there and this team needs that. Took over the reigns with no college experience, in a year two he wouldn’t let a 13 game streak happen.

Spencer was damn good as an untrue freshman. He'd probably have been outstanding with a year under his belt.

He would have been a nice addition this year. I guess he would have been the '"Alpha" guy Collins speaks of, but he recruited these guys, so you get what you get.
