I'll accept and agree with a lot of criticism about Iowa and our fans, but I won't stand for this. You think we don't care about sick kids? You think we're indifferent whether they live or die? Maybe you think we're just "pretending" to be good, but you know what... if more people in this world pretended to be good people we'd be better off. Having visited the hospital on a gameday, I'll tell you that the kids aren't worried about "are they just doing this for easy publicity" -- it gives them happiness and hope seeing that people care enough about them to acknowledge them.

Kirk lost a premature grandchild at two-days old in that very hospital. If you can watch this without shedding a tear then you either haven't experienced true loss, or lack sympathy:
