It’s easily Cavanaugh. Don’t let recency bias play into this, go back and actually watch some of those games like 2017 Minnesota.
We would see actual decent line play at times under Austin. That never happened with Cavanaugh.

Yeah, I say Cavanaugh. Our OL performance in our loss to N Illinois was probably the worst I’ve ever seen from a Nebraska team. The Minnesota game sucked too but they had completely given up trying at that point. They actually were trying against N Illinois. I think that’s when we really knew it was all over for Riley

I vote this. Cavanaugh's last year was pathetic. Worst o-line in Husker history.

Austin or Cavanaugh?
Cavanaugh by far. Riley designed his offense around the screen pass because they couldn't pass block at OSU. We had improvement imo the first year or so under Austin but hit a wall. I dont know if it was a philosophical thing with him and Frost or what but it was just a flat line.

At least Austin didn't throw his shite in the back of his pickup and peel out like a drama queen.

Our OL only improved that first year because an injury forced a change at center. That first 6 games or so of 2017 was some of the worst OL play I've ever seen at the college level. It was also the most ill-disciplined.

They were all bad for sure. For me it was brutal and truly embarrassing to watch Cav's OL try and run a screen play.

Yeah that was weird.

His lines ran against some decent defenses
Helu, Burkhead and AA didn’t make those running lanes themselves. Stache had some decent lines but the play was sloppy at times. He looks pretty good in the rear view mirror.
