How does a guy that has really done absolutely nothing with his life become such a high profile guy in basketball?

Probably the same agent as the Kardishians

This guy can work miracles.

The real question...how can Bruce cut off his pepe?

It's an off night.

But that's the catch- he has done a lot with his life. He didn't get his power thru being tied to a shoe company, but that doesn't mean he has done nothing with his life to become such a high profile guy.
Besides, he is the Bill Brasky of basketball. His lore is larger than reality. Back 5 years ago the legend reached its pinnacle. You might have noticed he really isn't mentioned on boards and in print even 1/10 as often as just 5 years ago.

He is the guy that arranges things behind the scenes with AAU and the shoe companies, and now the agents-in-waiting for NBA teams that want his guys. It's like organized crime in a way.

Absolutely nothing in life? Dude has hustled his way through basically brokering deals to obtain the status he has. I call that success.

He has done a lot. With the stupid amateur rules, he serves a purpose. If those rules didnt exist, www wouldnt either.

Strongly agree

I think he is an awesome story. It's not his fault the system is broken and I applaud him for hustling his way through it.

You must not be in the business world. There are hundreds of thousands of people that seem to have "done absolutely nothing" that have the intangible skills required to make things happen in whatever business environment they are in. I work with a lot of guys who their only skill is "getting things done".

He is Cal's agent. When he and Cal target a player, Wes makes it happen. Keep in mind that the NCAA has banned Wes from credentialed areas of all NCAA events.

After its all said and done, there will be a book and documentary about it all. Just like how Sam Gilbert was the man who built UCLA basketball while Wooden was the brand that everyone bought. Cal is the brand being sold now and Wes is making it happen behind the scenes through Creative Artists Agency.

He's the modern version of Sonny Vaccarro. Its all about trust and the sphere of influence, and in the end, connecting talent with money and the best situation for each of his clients.
