I know the Astros are favored, but I have to root for the Braves. My mom was a huge Braves fan for many, many years. She's gone now, but she would be some happy tonight knowing that Atlanta made the World Series.

That was a pretty breaking ball from Morton to get the Astros leadoff hitter.

Whew! Left 'em loaded...

3-0 Braves now in the third.

The announcers said it was the first time in World Series history that the leadoff batter has hit a home run. That's a little surprising.

I don't know a single damned player on the Braves team but I loving this!!! Valdez knocked out as I typed this!

17 the Astros! You don't cheat like they do in baseball. Everyone cheats some but they are habitual cheeters.

Wow, looks like Morton was injured by that drive that bounced off his lower leg. Hope he can pitch again in the series, but next man up!

I was trying to remember, but I think it was the first swing. The local Fox station is squabbling with Dish, so I'm having to get it over the air, which means I couldn't back up and check.

I don't know any of them either. Used to follow the Braves closely but just got out of the habit. I must still expect to see Dale Murphy in center field when I turn a game on.

Morton with a fractured fibula, baseball has the oddest injuries but I’ve never seen that

Braves can't win 4 without him IMO.

Astros missing their most effective starter. Do you really think the Astros are in a better position with the braves throwing their ace tonight against a much lesser pitcher? Obviously anything can happen in baseball, but I wouldn't trade positions with the Astros

This isn’t the Astros with that All Star rotation of 4-5 years ago. Greinke is their only name pitcher and he has been terrible. Braves are pitching their ace tonight vs a guy who has pitched once in the postseason. Barring a collapse from Fried, the Braves could be up 2-0 going home for 3. With or without the DH, this Braves lineup is much deeper 1-9. This very easily could be Braves in 5 or a sweep.

All 9 Braves starters with a hit last night. I'm going out on a limb and saying that's a good omen.

GAME 2 - Hope the Braves can steal another one from the slightly favored (and much more infamous) Astros.

Didn't realize it has been 16 years since the roof was open for a playoff game at Minute Maid. And the Astros are 0-4 in those situations.
