Yes this night was about NU. The only thing Kearney and Wayne State got out of it are the memories their girls will have of playing in the game. Sharing those memories with the grandkids ain’t a bad thing.

I can’t wait for the football team to finally get the crowd rocking like we witnessed this evening with the volleyball team. It looked like a party atmosphere and a must see event. So wish I could have been there.
The Husker football faithful has so much pent up energy just waiting to be unleashed. Get the job done against Minnesota/Colorado and fans will be so geared up waiting for the team to return to Memorial Stadium.

I don't disagree, but I would have liked to see a little bit of a "dual celebration" of the event....maybe an on court recognition of the NU and UNO girls together. At least something like that before the final celebration at the end. That was pretty amazing, though. Congratulations to John Cook and the girls....and especially all of the people that made this night such an unbelievable success. Just, wow.....

Yeah, I am not a VB fan either. I would not go to it and I watched like 10 minutes of it but if they put this on a Saturday...
Maybe starting at 6pm with two top Nebraska HS teams, then two college teams from the state and then NU vs whoever...

I get what you’re saying. It was billed as Nebraska volleyball day and not Husker volleyball day. I have ZERO doubt that there were fans of the other program who helped make it a record that felt slighted. I do think that being part of that will benefit UNO from a recruiting and national perception.
I thought the same thing while watching the after-match celebration on BTN. Our women were dancing and the UNO players who stayed out were off to the side. But after sleeping on it, the Wayne St, UNK, and UNO players, coaches, administrations, and parents were handed an amazing experience for doing not much more than showing up. So I decided to not over-think it and declare it a win-win for everybody.
Felt "big" even watching it on TV....seeing the players hair blowing around in the wind was amazing to

Next goal should be to play Creighton in the PBA. Won't be much of an attendance record but the demand for tickets will be there to fill it.
Plus it’s a nice little dig at creighton, I’m surprised the jaysker fans aren’t pissed because creighton was left out
