Tough to beat them in their home stadium
Yep. Mexico in Azteca stadium is one of the most unique home field advantages in all of sports. Not only are their fans notorious for being insane lunatics there, but at over 7000 feet Azteca provides an altitude advantage like virtually no other stadium anywhere.

It’s likely none of England’s have ever played in air that thin before.

Heartbreak for the DRC today. They played very well in this tournament. Kane continues to make magic but I’m not sure it will be enough.

The pass to Sarr on Senegal’s second goal was as pure as a pass could ever be. Strikers dream of a pass like that.

Romelu Lukaku is that old, slow, overweight guy who dominates the pick-up basketball game because he's really strong, knows how to use that, and still has some crafty moves and skills.

It's really weird seeing a guy who's clearly at least 220 pounds out there playing a game where a lot of guys weigh 150-160.
Did you see the Netherland's striker?

Trying to figure out if I want Senegal or Belgium to win this. The more they play, the more I think Lukaku might get gassed in the next game. I know there are no guarantees we win tonight, but I am leaning towards wanting to play Belgium. I think Senegal might be too quick for us.

I was typing a totally different response, but then boom, it looks like we're going to get what you want.

And I kind of agree, though there is a downside. I think Belgium is an easier team to plan for- they play like you'd expect them to, whereas Senegal would just kick the ball towards the goal and try to outrun all the defenders. But...Belgium has a skill level that a team like Senegal doesn't. If you screw up, they'll take advantage.

Hope the US can avenge their 2014 World Cup loss to Belgium when Wondolowski missed that sitter in stoppage time. If they had won that game, they would have played Messi and Argentina in the round of 16 and that would have been the biggest sports television viewing audience in history.

That was off Bosnia's foot and they get a corner. Some corrupt *** officiating going on in this one.

Pardon my ignorance, dude that just got the red car is out for this game and next game? Is that what I just heard? If so that’s some BS. Just one more reason to not like soccer and I am really trying to give it a chance.
