Currently Brevard, East Henderson, North Henderson, and West Henderson remain with vacant football jobs in WNC. Any word on any of these jobs as far as if they are close to a hire or have any front runners?
Why? What's the issue at Henderson County Schools?I have heard that West has had an offer turned down once or twice. Havent heard anything about the rest of them. I would imagine the Henderson County Schools, especially East and North will have a hard time finding a replacement.
I understand that. The cost of living is tough to get a decent house up there.I am not sure exactly what the previous poster meant. But the cost of living in WNC is pretty high on a teacher salary. East Henderson football has been really bad since Brett Chapell left. And North Henderson, though never terrible, has no history of success. Pretty tough places to be successful having to play several traditional mountain powers in conference play.
High cost of living, 4 schools in the county, and outside of Hendersonville and West, I'd say little interest from good coaches. Why? What's the issue at Henderson County Schools?
I would think both probably are drawing a lot of interest but getting coaches to commit may be a different story. If you do not already live in that area, it's going to be hard for a coach to move in there and it be affordable.I expected more chatter about the Brevard job, thats one of the best jobs in the mountains, you would think them and W. Henderson both would draw a good bit of interest.
