I had heard Murphy and Pisgah would still be playing next year, guess I heard wrong
Murphy would not beat ACR unless it was a down year for ACR and Murphy had a very good team by their standards. But they shouldn't given the size difference and drawing area. I think Murphy could more than hold their own with any other mountain team most years though. ACR is in a different class than the rest of the mountain teams at this point. Asheville isn't Asheville anymore.
And as for this Murphy fan you will never hear me say ACR is overrated. I lived in south Asheville for 2 1/2 years and I know first hand what a great program ACR has. Great coaching and very good talent is a winning formula.
I may be wrong. I know Pisgah picked up Mtn.Heritage and Chase. They may have indeed kept Murphy on the schedule.
Chase? Really stacking the schedule.
I don't think Murphy beat ACR, Erwin or Heritage this season. Asheville is a little down but they have gotten a lot better as the year has gone and I think they would also be Murphy. pisgah is very close even if they did beat murphy. I think mitchell would be close to. The rest Murphy could play with and beat
I do not believe Asheville would beat Murphy, Murphy beat them in their scrimmage and I saw nothing to suggest they would beat Murphy in a real game. Erwin would be favored but not by an exorbitant amount and ACR would obviously be favored, the Heritage game would be a tossup imo. Murphy played Pisgah with two of their three best players out injured, not necessarily saying they would have beat Pisgah had they played but it definitely had an effect. I would like to see a rematch but will have to wait till next year. Murphy would be favored over Mitchell but not by a lot.

Pisgah and Murphy will play in Murphy next year. Pisgah dropped Greeneville so Reynolds should call them.
You know you guys have three games before conference games start.So it's kinda hard to schedule any team in your conference. Why in the hell would we be afraid of Erwin since we have played one of the top teams in Tennesse for two years? But if you can figure out a way you can play us in that fifth or sixth game call coach. I understand he's still looking for an eleventh game.
I also know Murphy is wanting a game next Friday .If you think you're so great call them. They will even play you at home. Some of us Pisgah fans would come to that one.
Well, I am almost sure ACR will not be playing Owen this coming year, I am pretty sure the Southern Durham game will be replaced since our 2 year contract with them is up. I'm sure we will continue to play Shelby since the coaches are good friends. Now the Tuscola situation, should they appeal to drop to 2A we will have to replace that game, because I'm sure they won't play us unless we are conference foes. I know in the past Coach Laws has talked to some top Charlotte teams about playing but can't match up dates. We shall see, I'd love to get back to playing more local teams but it's tough for us, because teams in our area won't play us. We didn't choose to play West Forsyth and Southern Durham the past 6 years we just didn't have a choice we had to fill out our schedule.
I could be wrong but I don't see that being granted if they try for it. The NCHSAA has only really ever let teams drop down during a realignment cycle if it's a true hardship, like another school opening up and taking a large portion of a school's enrollment.

I agree. They’re not the only school on the state who has smaller numbers than they did when adm’s came out. If NCHSAA did it for them then they would have to do it for everyone. There is always a cut off just play with what you’re delt.
id love to plat crest also. would be a tough non conference schedule for us to play shelby and crest.thing about it it would be an easier drive for us than going out to murphy.and look if we beat murphy. no big deal were bigger were suppose to beat them. if they beat us its a huge upset and great for them.no disrepect to coach gentry and that program at all but it doesnt make good sense for us to play them.
when are they going to release the playoff pairings for the west since were through the regular season?im sure reynoldsrocks is in the know.
All the playoff brackets will be released on the 10th. They can't do the West separately, first off some games in the Charlotte area are being made up on the 9th. Sun Valley and Marvin Ridge play 11/9. Also, games in the east could affect the east/west cutoff line, so they have to wait until all games in the state are complete.
It is funny how some of these guys know a year ahead how bad or good a team is.I remember two years ago everyone was saying how Polk was going to be good and North Buncombe wouldn't win a game.
You know good and well Pisgah dropped Erwin from their schedule the second we started beating them. Caught back to back L’s and decided not to renew. So don’t try that. Your coach doesn’t like losing to local schools apparently. I don’t think we are great, but I know we are better than Pisgah. The fact that you all are scared to come over the hill bothers me, because you all had no problem playing us when we were an automatic win for Pisgah.

ehswarriors02 be careful, remember Pisgah did beat Enka 28-6, and Tuscola 20-10 that's close to how Erwin did against those 2 teams isn't it?
Don't get upset Pisgah, I'm bored and just having a little fun. I know we struggled against West Henderson, it's all good fun. But even West Henderson beat Enka 41-0
Heck I'd love to play Pisgah and Brevard both, we owe Brevard about 18 years worth of torture they gave us! We finally tied Pisgah 11-11 in wins and losses, finally caught up with Tuscola 17-17, but Brevard owns us we are 8-26-1 against them!
Amen. If you are going to replace a great coach, always try to get someone as competent as the last one. The offense went from averaging 30 points a game for four years to scoring 6 points combined against the Big Three, Erwin, Asheville and ACR. But as long as the Momma's, Daddy's and Politicans are happy. Defense is much better, but the offense is putrid. If you have a QB that can't complete a forward pass, replace him. It is obvious the Administration and the transplant families do not care anymore. People wonder why everyone wants to leave for Pisgah. That team has been a joke this year. The Coach was under Kiefer and Pursley, two of the best ever, you think he would have retained something about making adjustments and managing the game and clock. I think he is a great guy personally, but you are in Waynesville and it is a position that you better figure it out. On the job training doesn’t fly in Haywood County. I have been seriously underwhelmed. Can someone tell me why we changed the offense? South Point runs the same offense for 35 years and kicks everyones *** with marginal talent compared to their competiton. Old Red Part II.

Bama I agree wholeheartedly ! But when you have a coaching staff that has practically no college playing experience it is what is expected . We have no short passing game every pass play is 30 yards at least with 2 receivers . Qb runs backwards every pass play . We haven’t picked up a blitz all year. Has our defense really improved? Gonna be along time before this turns around. Jmo
Posted a best of WNC poll on the 2A board. Wish we could split these boards up to three different sections because I follow all the mtn teams. I think it would be cool to have it split in too mountains, piedmont, and costal. Just my opinion.
That would be the other way around had you guys been playing them consistently lately.
