I don't get why he wouldn't use the agent thing this year with him being a real possible draft pick. If EJ gets an agent it has to make you wonder. I don't like these agents getting involved with kids that might return to school and some should, but money is there now so agents are probably going to push most to stay in.

Why? The league literally dictates most of the draft contracts money in round 1. I'm sure he will get one if he hears what he needs to during the process.

And how much stuff will the agent “gift” and not report in hopes that when they come out later the player will sign with them?

Unless they have 54 picks in the 1st round he will not be. I have not seen 1 person have Bassey in the 1st round, or even early in the second. He is NOT ready.

NBA draft net, NBC sports and NBA draft room all have him in rd 1.

It is not about the contract but the contacts. I know most think all agents are scum (Some are) but a good agent will guide the player through the process and decline requests from clubs that he deems excessive (making the agent the bad guy and not the player).
