Ill take a proven commodity over this weak HS class. Travis has averaged 20 and 10 in a power conference. Sign me up for that 24/7/365

I think PJ is the best out of all of those players so I'll take the option that involves him.

If you had the choice would you rather have had Wenyen and Vanderbilt return plus add Zion? Or keep it the way it is and return Pj and add Travis?

Maybe it's bias but I'm more excited about Travis than I have anyone in a long time.
Well, I have two issues with the first choice. First, I don't think JV will stay healthy and second, I've never been convinced Zion is anything more than a highlight reel player. I'll take an improving PJ and add Travis every day plus Sunday.

A tough choice but at the end of the day I take Travis and PJ because we get two somewhat known quantities as opposed to maybe one known

And E.J. probably isn’t here if Zion is. I know that isn’t part of your hypothetical but still something to think about.

Wenyen and zion would have been great but I wanted P.J. back more than anyone and adding a senior that produces like Travis is amazing.

Yep, again as I have said before I am not the type to jump on the "bash train" when players (even ignorantly) declare for the draft like JV did...but idk, there just seemed to be a LOT of smoke, Cal calling him out in public...his circle seemingly holding JV back for monetary gain (lol what monetary gain though?)

That is the saddest part of all imo. I mean granted these guys are adults, however many of them have had their handlers, brothers, friends, mentors, Uncle Grandfather T (as @morgousky so eloquently put it...I got a chuckle out of that one lol) in their ear since they were probably 14 essentially guiding (aka making decisions) for them. It sucks and it is sad. So many people on here are quick to bash those of us who legitimately think JV is making an IGNORANT business decision...as if we "only care about ourselves"

Nope, someone like SGA, Knox etc? 100% absolutely makes sense to declare...make that guaranteed millions. But JV? lol...when he could have come back, made even MORE legit connections with the help of Cal, built his brand...built more hype and easily go lottery/mid first round next year?

It is a foolish decision, and when thinking long term its evident it is a stupid decision. Hand to god, if my son had the gifts PJ, JV etc had I would absolutely encourage their hand to return to school. PJ made the right decision.
Look, of course these guys want to be millionaires playing for an organization as awesome as the NBA...who freaking wouldn't? But sometimes...ya know sometimes...it takes more than 9 months of haphazard "work" to become a multi millionaire. This thinking of "He is 20 years old and maxed out!" is Ludacris

There was something off about JV all year. We seen it when Cal talked about it to the media. When has he ever talked about any other olayer like that? I bet Cal kinda gave him a backstage nudge or didn't really care to keep him honestly.

Johnson, Travis, PJ, and EJ all day every day.......... Zion is only a freight train..... I said since November I'd rather have Johnson because 1... the player with something to prove tends to work harder and want it more... and 2... Johnson is a better shooter and 3.. better defender. At UK the refs let teams play us physical.... so a player who can also shoot opens the floor up for everyone else also.

I don't know anything about the in coming players other than what people say on here...but I would have taken Wenyen over Vanderbilt.

I’d like to get Travis before I have that conversation.

This, but if Travis comes, I'd take him and PJ over the trio of Vanderbilt, Wenyen and Zion Williamson. Travis is an experienced graduate senior that has put up great numbers the last two seasons. You have a much better idea of what you're getting with him (health permitting) than you do with a junior Gabriel, sophomore Vanderbilt and true freshman Zion.

And that doesn't even include the improvement PJ should make as a sophomore. PJ was the most productive of the trio and he's the one that returned. I'll take it.

Midseason, I didn't think Richards would return.

In November, I actually thought we'd have a frontline collection of SKJ, Zion, Moses Brown, PJ, and Gabriel.

I actually like the return of Richards/PJ and additions of Travis/EJ much better than that first option.

Zion's hype is quite different than what he'll actually do from a production level. PJ/Travis already know what to do on the court.

PJ and Travis. I was excited about the prospect of Zion being a Cat but the experience of Travis is a key we have been missing to get us another championship. Plus, 19.5 ppg and 8 rpg in a power conference is hard to pass on. Add the fact that PJ should be an animal with experience this season makes it an easy call for. Now we just need to get Travis!

Plus EJ and Richards are both guys most of us never foresaw on next season's roster. Not bad to have two future 1st round picks as your interior backups.

My feelings exactly and I'll add a little something more. I think JV and his handlers were a big problem last season. As much as I would love to see JV in UK blue next year, I think it's best that he's gone.
As far as Zion, would love to have gotten him, but what can he do besides dunk? I think he made a mistake going to duke. Sure, he'll score, but who is going to teach him how to play defense and rebound? K is an awesome coach, maybe best ever, but teaching defense to young teams is an issue for him.
But getting our roster, complete with Hagans, PJ and Travis… that's close to best case scenario. Only thing better for our situation would have been to get Wenyen and/or Zion out of the players that were realistic to get.
I like my team.

My hope is that Duke has massive chemistry issues once Zion realizes he's a third wheel while Coach K is forced to play him on the block.

I think Matt Jones said it best on the radio today, losing Vanderbilt might be a good thing. With him missing the combine that means he’s seriously hurt so you never know when he will be healthy again. It could’ve been a situation where Vandy rides the pine all season trying to get healthy and then wants to play late in the season which could’ve created a big problem with a set rotation. All I know is glad the distraction is gone, will miss his talent but I think the way things are breaking it best interest for UK right now.

The one that included Washington would’ve been my choice, no matter the combination of players.

I smell T R O U B L E at Duke, Zion will become a problem.
I can see this happening. With all of the hype and You Tube videos floating around this guy can not live up to expectations. The more I see the more I am thankful he went to Duke because they need a little turmoil up there. I am also thankful Vanderbilt is following the dream of his family.

I will by happy with PJ returning, the grad transfer and our new recruits. Cal will be able to do something with this group

Neither do you, ever...but I don't complain.

You asked if his question "was real?" instead of discussing the topic at hand. I understand if you don't have the wit to discuss certain topics, but it is confusing when you replace actual discussion with silly rhetorical questions. What does that even mean?

It's like asking if you'd rather eat a bag of nails, or a $100 steak...there's no discussion.
