Uh, Moreno was never moving the needle this upcoming season either way! Dude could literally be a 17 /11/ 1.5 All American, and Pope is still losing 15 games as the roster stands today…

Again… That’s WITH Moreno playing a full season of 28+ minutes a game!

Now, without Moreno or a comparable addition, we’re in 2021 Calipari territory then!

So, don’t stress about Moreno, he was never saving Pope’s job, sans becoming the love child of Wemby and Jokic😂

I agree with everything you said. But to you're point about recruiting for BYU, in this new era it just isn't the same. If you got money and a cool coach players like then you will get recruits.

I think a large portion of BBN is having trouble accepting this modern age of college basketball. Having a hard time accepting that blue blood is a thing of the past. Having a hard time accepting our tradition means nothing to these players.

Even 2012 is a thing of the past. Much less championships won in the 50s or whenever they were. I don't think BBN for the most part realizes the actual trouble we are in. It's not just Pope. There's a reason we ended up with Pope.

UK has some major issues with being behind the times and some people act like that's false because we ended up with Stein and he's done a good job at recruiting some kids to the program. HE still has to win games before any of that matters. I'll give him credit he's done a good job so far. About as good as he can. But he's young and came from a top program. To my point..he's young and runs the football program like a modern program. Players are obviously connecting to him.

If the administration isn't going to catch up with the times they better hire a coach like Stein for basketball that can overcome all the obstacles and connect with the young players. I'm sorry these kids just aren't going to be attracted to Pope. They see what we all see. He's a different kind of guy. He's struggling.

Yes and no....then why is Duke and UConn and Kansas to a lesser degree not having trouble getting top tier talent...?

didn't Pope just say a couple of days ago he couldn't wait to coach Moreno this year (good god how out in space and detached he must be) anyways... NO WORRIES, POPE UNDERSTANDS THE ASSIGNMENT!
It wouldn't matter if he came back a bunch of you people would continue to ***** about how bad the team is. It wouldn't even matter if the team won 30 games, a lot of you on here would be ranting and revving how bad a coach Pope is.

Even if MM returns UK will need another center. MM can only play 20 minutes at high level. Franck Kepnang with his injury history will not be able to carry The remaining 20 min the whole season. RP and ON’D are a non factor at 5.

If MM goes to nba , UK needs 2 more centers.

Otherwise, the Center position is going to become the PG position from last year due to poor planning from MP.

He's not gone other than in your fantasy world. You may end up being gone, but he's not at this time.
Built in excuse for Pope. Though for sure we had Moreno back to start, that didn’t happen but just wait until next year. This is a theme with Pope, always something to blame.
How was this on Pope and how did he build it in?

I think Reece Potter is much more than fine as a 3rd string Center averaging 6-7min./gm. I actually think he'd be fine playing even more if required to. Potter is not some guy who just recently picked up the game because he's tall. He has played the game since he was a kid, and that means something in regard to competence when you grow up in KY - basically because we play it so much and put such emphasis on the game. In fact, I think he was rated the 3rd best player or prospect (not sure which, although there's definitely a difference) in KY his senior season. He doesn't have to be a "star" to be serviceable. I think the ones who view him like a traditional walk-on are clueless about him - and probably a lot of basketball stuff in general. And I'm talking in generalities here, not about you.

If Moreno stays in the draft, the only thing that would prevent a complete disaster for UK next season would be landing BOTH Momcilovic AND Graves.
I don’t see Graves Pullimg out and even if he does it’s suspected LSU by many with ties to the state. But hey money talks

If Moreno leaves, Kepnang and Potter will simply have to step up and be productive. It's that simple ... that's how it has to be !!
I'd be working the back channels on David Fuchs out of San Francisco. He'd be short buy has the beef and could be helpful on the block.

Failing that look overseas. We'd need someone else in the rotation.

I hope he decides to comeback for another year but I wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t. The leap he made from his Senior Year of high school to his Freshman year in college was outstanding!

Seems like their programs are with the times. I can't tell you why. But we see us struggling and see them thriving. I can't tell you why. My opinion is Kentucky still thinks it's 1996. Even after leading the way for the one and done era. Ooh well I reckon it's a coaching issue.
