They basically play 5 guys, which we need to take advantage of.

4 of the 5 shoot 3’s, all in the 32-36% range, including their 7-footer Crowl. Davison has the second most made 3’s in the league, can’t get lazy with him.

They’re all good to great free throw shooters.

I can’t believe how few assists they average. They seem to move the ball well but only average 11 assists per game (we average 16).

I think their freshman guard Hepburn is coming into his own lately. He’s quick - would be really nice to have Miller nag him for a few minutes per half but I doubt he’s back. I kind of think this kid is the X factor. McConnell should be able to contain Davis, but we’ll need Geo and co. to show up defensively and make Hepburn look like the freshman he is.

Orchestrate McConnell guarding Davis as much as possible and pick on Davidson on the other end to force Wisconsin to over help and rotate defensively
Yeah if Davidson guards Paul than he takes him down in the paint and if he guards Geo hopefully he will be in attack mode like he was at the end of the OSU game and just blow by him every time

I was checking their stats the other day and I was really surprised the assist numbers weren't higher as well. Seems odd.

Caleb locks down Davis. Everyone else play up on your man closer than normal. Make them beat you taking it to the basket. Don't over help and give up the wide open 3's... ESPECIALLY to home teams.

Cliff and Dean should thrive

Geo typically has disappeared after a big game... really would love to see him carry the momentum into back to back star performances but if not it's now your turn Ron

Defend their main 3 guys without fouling in the act of shooting (non-shooting fouls are ok on those guys, to get the ball out of their hands and disrupt their offensive flow).

Just post up Paul on Davison. When they double kick it to Geo or Ron for wide open shots. If they don’t, avoid the flop he will ultimately do and just go over the top of him.

- Caleb on Davis
- Paul on Davison - I like the height here, as Paul is taller by 2 inches
- Geo on Bride of Chucky
- Ron on Wohl
- Cliff on Crowls

Davis is probably equal to Ivey as the top wing player in the league. Dude is just so smooth and can score at all three levels. Going to be a big challenge for Caleb.

Don't double the post, except with well-timed "digs" by the guards in the paint, so that we don't leave their shooters open too much.

On offense, must take advantage of Cliff's superior athleticism. Hopefully get the Paulie Pivot Foot and Clifford The Big Red Dunking Dog show going.

And hope that Ron has one of his unconscious games. He needs to pretend we're playing at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, as he seems to love shooting in that place. I mean, Madison isn't too far from Iowa City...

It is a 179 miles from Carver-Hawkeye Arena to the Kohl Center, just over a three hour drive if you left right now.

Wisconsin does a great job of limiting turnovers, only 103 in 13 conference games. (We have committed 165.)

They do have a -1.5 rebounding margin on average, so we need to focus on exploiting what should be an edge on the glass. Ohio State was killing us with 2nd and 3rd chance points in the first half before we cleaned that up.

I see people above said they have a lot of guys that can shoot the 3, but they are DEAD LAST in the conference in 3PT% at .314 (89 for 283). This is being dragged way down by Wahl (3 for 18 from deep, watch him go off for three tomorrow...) and a bench that is 8 for 46 from downtown. Ugh.

They are actually right behind us in league-only FT%, .737 to .727. I remember a few years ago we played them and they only missed one FT (I think) out of a TON of shots that game.

Wisconsin runs a system offense with Davis and Davidson both capable of creating shots off the dribble or posting up against smaller defenders. They also have a couple of inside players that can make shots around the basket. What makes them tough is the home court and the ability to win games with a margin of five points or less.I fully expect Rutgers to defeat Wisconsin at the RAC.

Would be lovely to have a shooting game like Iowa had last night. I don’t know how many more 2 point games I can handle

Bohannon killed Maryland last night. We caught a break he wasn't hot like that against us.

More like Maryland got unlucky. He's been bad this year. The Iowa board was all complaining about his poor season when I went over there for our game

Johnny Davis averages 16.7 shots a game.
He had a 37 pt, 30pt, 11 20-29 pt games, 7 10-19 pt games and only 1 4 point game vs PSU last weekend.

Caleb needs his best kicks Sat for Davis
Cliff on the 7 footer.
I'd prefer Paul on Wahl, Ron doesn't defend tall, lanky well
Geo on Davison and Ron on Hepburn

We are 3-9 all time vs Wisconsin, last 6(2-4), all single digit wins and losses
2016-17 @54-61, 2017-18 64-60, 2018-19 @64-69,

If you win at Wisconsin after the past two intense wins then you would put the entire BigTen on upset alert…
