The recruiting at UW has upticked recently, but generally, UW is indeed a developmental program. The talent of the OLine - except maybe during the brief Gary Andersen interlude - has been relatively elite, though. That helps. Alot.

The RB recruiting has been downright pathetic for sure.

Stewie Griffin once said, words to the effect of 'anyone who says "irregardless", "a whole 'nother" or "all of the sudden" will be sent to a work camp

A whole other, por favor
If you substitute the "a" with an apostrophe, it is perfectly acceptable, in particular if you are imitating a Cheesehead talking about nerds.

Yeah we've had some guys....

But they haven't all been highly sought after. Jonathan Taylor flipped from Rutgers, for example. We were the only school to recruit Dayne as a TB.

But, having an oline reputation definitely helped in landing good RBs, too.

Fitz knows the formula to beat teams like Wisconsin and Iowa (aka- poor man's Wisconsin).

I tip my cap and raise my glass to you, kind sir. Glad to see you have a solid understanding of what's what in our division.

some good socioeconomic class butthurt here:

“I may drive down their and tailgate outside the stadium. Give the townies a little wake-up call. I posted this last year, but my wife (who never starts anything with anyone other than me) once went up to a random 50-year-old female Northwestern "fan" who was drinking wine at a football tailgate and earnestly asked her where she purchased her fur coat. She then turned to the rest of our group and laughed-and-laughed as the woman stared at her with a bewildered look on her face.”

I tend to think of myself as more of a Geek, but tomato, tomatoe.

I also make this distinction between “nerd” and “geek”. “Nerd” has always (to me) carried the connotation of social ineptness to go along with the intelligence. “Geek” doesn’t carry that same connotation of social ineptness, but more the idea of intelligence coupled with a fascination and enthusiasm for things off the beaten track (computer programming, comic books, video games, RPGs, advanced sports statistics, etc). Hence, the phrase “geeking about such-and-such”.

I have always personally felt slightly offended when someone calls me a “nerd”, but wear my geek badge with pride! :)
