Wisconsin fans throughout the years have been one of , if not the, most obnoxious. They also seem to show up in pretty good numbers to Rutgers events.

small examplefrom yesterday ..

couple groups of badger fans at stuff yer face . Tried their hardest to be normal but couldn’t help themselves a few times from breaking out into badger chants in a packed RU bar.

they were the old timers, appeared to have the midwestern look but still carried the urge to be obnoxious fans

I also realize I shouldn’t generalize and lump “all fans” together. Ive seen our fans act the same way at away venues.

I’m just a big proponent of cheering for your team without being obnoxious. All fan bases have them.
When I go to road games in any sport , I will root but never be obnoxious and always make sure I become friendly with my neighbors. I m conscientious about realizing that I am in hostile territory. I also think due to maturity or lack of it- the younger you are the more obnoxious you are and as you get older - you become more mature about the situation. Part of growing up.

From my memory from 2016 Iowans are easily the best people. Anddddd, if I remember clearly, they had some smoke show moms

Overall they didn’t make a lot of noise but they definitely came off as the dooshiest group this season by far.

Walking out in the parking lot I had a group of 3-4 kids probably about 12 year olds trying to chat me and other fans up asking stupid questions like

“Is Rutgers was Division 1”?
“Is Rutgers going to make the tournament”?

They kept giggling to eachother and were clearly doing it to get a rise out of fans. I had no problem with them being little twerps but I had a problem with their mom who was walking right with them and letting them carry on with their stupid questions to everyone.

It’s funny because on the WI message boards to a person everyone is very complimentary of Rutgers, the players and coach Pikiell. I know I love the way Rutgers plays and pull for you in every game but our own. Sorry you had a bad experience with some obnoxious Coastie Badger fans.

we beat them at their place, they beat us at ours

they have no head-to-head bragging rights

I would not mind meeting them for a third time in the B1G
tourney, it would take some doing for us to now reach that

If we're anywhere other than the 8/9 game would almost certainly be in the championship game. They're in the driver's seat for the 1 seed at this point

Would almost guarantee these are the kids from my section.

There are a lot of them, probably more than any other fan base this year.
They were pretty quiet then. I only saw 4 in my section. Interestingly I had 2 real jackass Rutgers fans next to me (the guy next to me sells his 2 Tixs for every game and I’m usually thankful when an RU fan shows up … not yesterday). Unfortunately there are asshats in all fan bases, ours included.

Another BS timeout to prove his point from Michigan. The game was over up 5 with 4 seconds.
I can see it now in an upcoming episode- "This Wisconsin coach called timeout with four seconds left and a five point lead against lowly Rutgers."

This thread reminded me that ten-years ago or so, at the RAC, for the only time in my life I got into a shouting match with a guy from the opposing school--probably trying to impress his girlfriend with how obnoxious he could be in a "hostile" environment--couldn't take him any more: a Wisconsin fan.

Go Away.....Everyone in my section were pretty annoyed. I think Howard would have been swinging again.

I honestly lost some respect for Gard at that point.

Interesting about the Wisconsin fans. I sit in the 100s and you don’t get the same element. The Wisconsin fans around me were fine

I’m probably in the minority but I had no problem with Gard s time out at end of game.
The ones behind their bench? regular visitor fans? family of players and coaches? I'd expect them to be better behaved
