i noticed there were 13 teams in the big standing and was trying to figure which school did not have a team. What the hell badgers?
They cut it in the name of Title IX. It’s dumb, as Wisconsin, namely Madison, is a huge baseball state and city. My ex’s grandfather played there back in the early 1900s.i noticed there were 13 teams in the big standing and was trying to figure which school did not have a team. What the hell badgers?
Burnova. Good work.Fun fact:
Wisconsin folded its baseball program in 1991 but still has as many College World Series appearances (1) as Iowa.

Schools have to choose the sports to support due to Title IX. They play hockey and Nebraska doesn’t. I suspect hockey is a sport they can’t do without.
Not the part of your post I was referencing.Canucks are not a race

It's possible no sports were dropped depending on what a school spends on each sport. Nebraska and Wisconsin have large walk-on programs and I think all athletes have access to the training table.Minnesota plays both. I'm quite sure other Big Ten teams do the same. It would be interesting to see what sports have been dropped to allow this for these other programs.
Minnesota(as well as Wisconsin) has women’s college hockey teams to offset the men’s teams.Minnesota plays both. I'm quite sure other Big Ten teams do the same. It would be interesting to see what sports have been dropped to allow this for these other programs.
After seeing our "ball girls" last night on TV I don't think we can make that statement......wowser there was a large girl running down foul balls. They couldn't find any Wisconsin women that fit in the bat girl shorts, so they shut down the program.

Interesting read on Badger baseball.i noticed there were 13 teams in the big standing and was trying to figure which school did not have a team. What the hell badgers?
That was always TOs argument. I’m not against women’s sports, but isn’t it about time they started paying their own way? If it wasn’t for the nba there sure wouldn’t be a WNBA. Nebraska football gets no subsidy from the state of Nebraska, why should the football team carry everything. Plus how many schools that aren’t even in compliance and nothing is being enforcedWhat offsets football then? I've always wondered, since no women's sport comes even remotely close.
I’m dying hereFun fact:
