man, how sweet it would be to be 9-1 or 8-2, ranked in the top 15, going in to finally crush a ****** Wisconsin team at home.
10 years ago I would have already jizzed my pants for that 6pm NIU game.

I guess realistically I see us getting our first or second loss in the BIG Champ game and then crushed in the playoffs. Going to be tough, but progress. Maybe set up for a natty next year. My kool-aid is spiked but this is my favorite part of every season since we beat UCLA in the foster farms bowl. Let me have this.

My prediction is a 8-4 record so the Wisconsin game, should we win, will be icing on the cake and get us to 9-3. But as it stands now I think our losses will be: Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Maryland. I think Illinois and Iowa are also going to be tough. And perhaps the hint of some turmoil at Minnesota gives us a better advantage in that game than I think right now. If that game were not an opening game I would have us winning. But with all new coaches and schemes, and a bunch of new players, I think it is pure kool aid drinking to think it is all going to click right away.
And because of all of these question marks I really think that Wisconsin game is going to be huge. I am personally glad it is at night and will be a big game atmosphere in a hostile arena. It might just ignite our guys to play with their hair on fire.

yes. these are the dregs NBC was unhappy about being served by the previous B1G commissioner, who was not representing his negotiating power accurately
this is also why NBC is actively renegotiating with the B1G and why the media deal everyone creamed their jeans about is sure to be less than initially reported
