I agree the league is tough but we don’t really have rivals in the league that get the blood boiling. Yet at least.

Let’s see where the score is at the end. Wisconsin erased a 21-point deficit on the road at Maryland earlier this week.

Underwood tested his team with a very tough OOC schedule and perhaps it will start to pay off. We only get them on the road and it will be a terrible match-up for us. Hopefully, we can split with Penn State and stay out of the basement.

Up 36 with just over 10 remaining. Doesn't make me feel any better. I guess no smug smiles for the Gophers tonight.

My goal is 10th place. Maybe I am delusional
You are...:)..lol....Besides the very slim chance we surpass the trio of Penn State; Illinois and Northwestern to end up in 11th place - who is the other squad we surpass to end up in 10th? Based on the season so far, if we're lucky to end up in 13th place, it would be a success. I think Illinois is the 11th place squad - leaving us,Northwestern and Penn State to battle for the last 3 spots in the Conference.

Another losing season looks pretty much guaranteed. When will Hobbs oversee a winning season in MBB or MFB?

How long should he get? Fund raising is great and all but year 3 is looking to finish just like the last 2 for this coach. Ash well

No NCAA for men’s basketball is coming up on 30 years soon.

Illinois has talent...not sure how much better than Minnesota Northwestern Penn State Rutgers and Nebraska but by next year, i don't anticipate the Illini being in the bottom 4 of the league. Underwood hasn't done a good job with the roster or coaching fundamentals but they have skilled players.

I think this spring and summer of recruiting for 2020 and the last 2019 pieces need to have players that can play at this level. I am not confident that Thiam, Kiss are good enough on either end and whomever earns their minutes this year and next year will get RU out of 14th...how much higher depends on health and how do programs like Nebraska, Penn State, Northwestern, Minnesota, Illinois replace their upperclassman. Most are recruiting solidly but the window for improvement for RU should be the rest of this season and next.

Illinois is a horrible matchup for us given that we don't have a true ball-handler and we're poor at free throw shooting (better lately, but still poor). Their whole defensive gameplan is to hound you which naturally leads to a lot of turnovers and fouls.

As of right now, I think kenPom ranks our schedule as 23rd toughest in the country so we will see how February shakes out.
