Spend more time on this board instead of just making negative flybys, and you may learn how to correctly quote. [laughing]

I’ll tell you what JohnnyBomb, and I’m dead serious, I’ll bet you $1000 that this team finishes better than 10-8 in conference play.

I’ve been wrong countless times in my life, (just ask my Wife), and I could be wrong about this also, but I’m willing to bet you on this.

To steep for me. I'll throw in 100 lol.

Let’s do it.

Noted.
I’ll bump the hell out of this thread just to see the results, and if the other pays up.

It wouldn't be about being a great team, it would be about positioning yourself. Given the makeup of the SEC this year, this was a game UK needed. Now we will most likely count on another team to pull off an unexpected win against UT or we win a road game we aren't expected to. While the SEC may be chaotic, its more likely that with this many good teams there is very little margin of error.

A win wouldn't have done much to shut down the 'what happened to the team that beat Louisville' questions.

But a loss has now opened up questions about whether we can win the SEC regular season and our seeding.

Given the number of good teams in other P5 conferences, its unlikely we'll see multiple #1 or #2 seeds from the SEC this year.

The team just dug a hole for itself to start the conference play. When people say we'll be fine after a loss like this, the question is - as opposed to what?

Look, there’s no one in their right mind that thinks we’re winning the SEC this season. We didn’t win the SEC last season. In fact, we finished tied for 4th.

We’ve already pissed away a winnable road game, so we’re really up against it now.

I think 12-6 in the conference would be a good record for this team. It would be a two game improvement over last season. That’s called progress.

I think it’s time that fans lower their expectations.

I mean I'm one of the positive guys on here, but the regular season SEC title was going to be a pretty lofty goal from the start. We knew this young team would drop some games and we are the only one that has to play AUB, TN and MISS ST twice. That puts us at a huge disadvantage.

Those 3 and us are currently ranked and TN doesn't play a ranked SEC opponent until Feb.16th (Us). They only play Miss St and AUB once. Just saying that's 2 more ranked opponents we have to play in the SEC than them. Figuring their the ones to catch, again not playing a ranked SEC foe until the middle of Feb. they should have a good lead.

AUB and Miss St play TN once. Not saying we can't get it together and pull it off, but going by the numbers and the friendly schedule it really sets up well for TN with room for some error. So as of now in conference we play 6 ranked opponents to their 4. So they have 11 games before they play one of the ranked teams and they already started off with a pretty easy one in GA.

We now have zero room for error. We have to win every home game and can't drop any games we are expected to win. We also need to steal a game or two on the road against TN, AUB or Miss St. It will be very tough unless TN starts to slip up.

I don't think you can't judge improvement from one season to the next when your team is different and the SEC is different. I can accept being 1 game behind UT. Not interested in hearing reasons why expecting UK to finish at the top of the SEC is unreasonable.

I''m just not going to be the kind of fan at the end of the season that starts making excuses for the program coming up short, refs, seeding, tweets from Rex Chapman...We had a reasonable expectation for them to be a final four team. They have the pieces. I expect to see it become a reality
