They will play a tiebreak at 12-12, if it gets that far. I think Novak wins it before then though. Fed had his chance & missed it.

Yeah. I hate it, but Novak dominated in all the critical points. I knew when Fed broke & served for the match & got broke, it was over. The Djoker was just too good. Barely.

IMO, Federer is the GOAT. To be able to do what he’s done for as long as he’s done it is just incredible. This was awesome to watch.

Disappointing investing that much time in watching a match and your guy comes up just short. Being a State fan you would think I would be used to it...

Yes he should,

but in reality, its about the competition,

and playing at a high level.

As fans we were treated to a real show.

Novak and Rafa both have winning records against Federer head to head

which is just insane. So, he's probably not the GOAT, but we'll see how the others' longevity works out. Federer is older than both and his game is still unbelievable at his age. Hope he plays well into his 40s.

Going to be interesting to see if tennis can produce 3 faces of the sport like these guys when they finally retire.

For Fed to still be competing at his age is crazy. But for Nadal and Novak to have so many majors at their ages is equally so.

It’s really insane that there are three of the best to ever do it playing in the same era. It would be like There were three Tigers or Jordan’s. Just for all three to be that dominant at the same time blows my mind

Yep. Just think how many each would have won if they were the only dominate player during their era or if just one of them didn't exist.

Nadal's head-to-head record over Federer is a somewhat of a mirage. During Federer's prime when he was winning almost every hard and grass court tournament, Nadal wasn't good enough to make the finals of those tournaments. Meanwhile, Nadal was beating Federer in the Final of most clay tournaments. So Nadal was racking up head-to-head wins on his preferred surface while Federer wasn't getting the chance to do the same. Overall, they've met on clay 16 times and grass only 4.

No such caveat for Novak, though.
