So here it is, I am curious as to your thoughts on the oad model. Will you be glad to see it go? Will it effect cal? How will it change college basketball? Frankly, I love the talent but you see guys like Vanderbilt, maybe ej, and James young leaving when they clearly aren’t ready. It will be nice getting some hidden talent like we have seen in guys like sga, as well as some that will shock us by choosing college over the league. Hell, Anthony Davis said he would of never gone straight to the league. I think cal will adapt, and hopefully teams like puke crumble unless k is still coaching in 2021.

Cal will adjust, but , like before the rule was in place , cal had to wait to see if his recruits declared for the draft. In the few first years all the top high schoolers will think they have what it takes. We need nba evaluations to be earlier and communication be straightforward.

It will continue past 2022. The only difference is that it won't be Zion and Davis headlining leaving college after a year, but guys like Vanderbilt, Monk, and SGA.

I wish we could keep it around (the "it" being the current rule). Now college basketball is about to go from mediocre to awful without the elite freshmen.

Having less talented players in college...no thanks

Also Cal doesnt get guys just bc of rankings all the time..he looks for particular attributes

If its gone it just means we will get the next best available and everyone will get players less than what they have now

Unless there is some sort of stipulation added to keep those who choose to go to school at school for 2-3 seasons, then the end of one and done won't be the end of one and done. What will happen is the elite of the elite (Top 10) will go pro straight out of high school. And the 2nd tier elite talent (Top 30) will bolt after only one season, as will some top 50 guys who play well. The end result is an even more watered down product than what we are seeing now. Not only will college teams miss out on the most elite prospects entirely, but the 2nd tier recruits will end up replacing the most elite recruits in the one and done cycle.

Unless a solution is crafted that looks like something halfway between the college baseball and football model, then ending one and done as it currently exists will only serve to further destroy the college game. And the state of the sport is already in the worst shape I've ever seen. If the situation worsens, the sporting public in general is going to cease to care about it. College basketball will be about as relevant as college baseball. Nobody will care.

H.S juniors skipping senior years for 1 year of college could ease the pain. Maybe not though.

It will never be over because there will always be kids that leave after one year regardless of their ratings coming out of high school.

This is the correct answer. The top kids will go straight to the league, and the next level kids will go to college for 1 year then leave and we'll all freak out about no one staying more than one year still.

If a kid is ready for the nba straight out of high school, who are we or anyone else to hold him back?
When fans want to see guys return for another season they are called selfish.
Seems a little ironic

You'll still have fringe players that might have been drafted outta high school leaving after one year.

I'll be thrilled when it's over.

I don't watch college basketball for the "high level of athleticism." I watch for the high level of competitive spirit. And I'm a sucker for the 4 year stories of guys that grew up in the program. I'm a traditionalist.
